Well,

I'm currently contemplating on 1) Making a homebrew...or 2) Buying DLCS when it comes out. I currently have an assortment of 3e Books....yet, I'll have to buy the 3.5 books.

I have read the Chronicles and Legends novels in the last 2 weeks (A lot of reading at work...:D ). I am really into them. My Brother has borrowed them from me and he is as interested in them as I am.

I'm not sure I understand the 5th age stuff yet...but that will come with time.

My question is: "Am I going to be overwhelmed with the DLCS because it incorporates so much of the novels, that I'll never be caught up with you DL Pros......if so should I just stick to a homebrew?"

I have about a Month before we start playing...but I hate to get into a campaign..then see the DLCS and say...ok: WE NEED TO PLAY THAT!

Should I just buy the 3.5 Books, catch up on some rules...then wait till DLCS comes out to actually start playing?

Kind of some questions with no real answers...but I'd like to see anyone's advice.

even if you know the least bit about DL, the new book will be enough to bring you into the present. I've been running a 3e DL campaign for years, and when the DLCS comes out, i'm going to convert to 3.5 and the CS from my homebrew.

Wait until the book is out, take a look at it, and decide then.

The DLCS is the foundation piece for gaming in DL in 3e. If you only buy one 3e DL book, buy this one.

However, if you do decide that you're not into it so much, there are plenty of rules on the Nexus to help you out, and there's a lot you can do with base classes. It wouldn't be too terribly hard to do.

However, I'm pretty confident that once you see the DLCS, you're going to love it.
