I was wondering the same thing. I came very close to ordering it but it seemed kind of fishy. Also it costs quite a bit more than if you order it from amazon.com. What to do what to do.......

It doesn't say that it is an autographed copy at margaretweis.com.

I am going to call the number and check as I already have two copies on order at BarnesAndNoble.

You can most definitely get it signed!

The website is still being tweaked. Right now, if you want to order one from margaretweis.com, and get it signed, simply email your order confirmation number along with what you'd like signed inside and you can get the book signed by Margaret If you want Tracy to sign it, unfortunately right now, you'll have to track him down at GenCon or Dragon*Con or at one of his book tours...which I'm sure he'll be doing fairly soon to promote his Bronze Canticles series.

The email address you'll need to send the information to is sales@margaretweis.com

Stormprince,

Would it in fact be shipped before the official release date? Or will the autographed copies be shipped upon the official release date?

I talked to Margaret this morning, and she says she has a limited supply which can be shipped right away. First come, first serve.

Just thought I would clarify.

They'll be shipped now, as far as I am aware. We do only have a limited number of copies available...just what was left over from our Origins numbers. After that, we'll have to wait until we get our own copies from WotC before we can ship any more.

Thanks!

Hehe .. sorry. You are right. It is is just that I have been waiting for this a long time. I'm just happy someone took over the DL project. When Wizards announced they would not be supporting DL my heart sunk. I thought the world that I loved was dying. I owned several of the forgotten realms campaign source books and maps a long time ago .. but they are no where near the world that DL is. I think it is a dumb move on Wizards part to let go of DL like that .. especially after the success of all their novels. But that just opened the door for the people at soviergn. I wouldn't be surprised if the DL campaign materials outsells FR. I know I'll be doing my part to make it so.

If I remember correctly, we had about 50 books left over...and considering the 'site and information was just put up last night, I think that you're good to go. I'd have to ask Jamie for exact details, but he's actually on a well-deserved vacation for the next 10 days or so...I'll see what I can find out.

How about international orders?

I was checking out the site, it looks like its just US and Canada orders. Am I wrong?

It would be nice to get ahold of the DLCS before September (Amazon UK seems to think its not availiable until then).

Ok not to rub it in but I bought the very first copy of this book sold at Origins. I was late for my Pikathulhu event just to be there when they cracked the books out. But it was well wrth it and to make it one of my best gaming experiences Margret personalized my book o me and noted that it was the 1st copy of the book sold. That was really cool. The guy running the Pikathulhu said that was a good enough reason to be late for any game if he had ever heard/seen one.

The following day I was lucky enough to play a intro Dragonlance with Christopher as our DM. The twisted goblins where cool and explaining barbarian rage as Wookee rage (how often do you hear that). The only sad part was I left the book back in the hotel and wasn't able to get Christopher or Jamie to sign it but they did sign my TSR silver poster, which is really starting to gather a lot of names.

Like I said not to rub it in, ok well maybe just a little. But the book is great and I'm running a classic war of the lance game this fall after the new rule books come out.

D*mn. I wish I wasn't so poor. The only way I'll be able to afford a regular one is if my uncle buys it useing his Barns & Noble discount, and we pay him back (4-6 people pitching in for it. My whole group, only I don't know for certain if two f them are or not).

If anyone wants to help this poor kid get him a signed copy of the DLCS, either send him money, or order a copy for him!

Dudes, calm down. the email gets sent to Jamie. Jamie is on vacation. Everything will get done efficiently, but don't expect replies. He knows what we want and is doing what he can, but come on. Brother has been slaving away in the vast nothingness of Wisconsin for god knows how long to get us this book, and i think he deserves a week off for himself. Its bad enough that he has to take calls from idiots like me =)

Working in the IT field, normally when someone goes on vacation an "Out of Office Reply" is set up or someone else is delegated the responsibility of replying to those incoming e-mails. That way one way or another the sender receives a reply.

Dragonhelm instructed us to send an e-mail to sales and Stormprince indeed informed us that he would ask Jamie who happens to be on vacation (one that I am sure is well-deserved).

I understand that the website is still under construction, but it normal for an e-mail to go out upon sending a product that is ordered via the Internet. Which will obviously generate the question of when will we receive it, now or in September. If it was already released or this was purely an advance sale, I don't think the question would be rising so often.

Lastly, everyone is obviously very anxious to get a hold of the book (understandably so as DL fans have been waiting for DL reappearance for quite some time). I know that once we have the book in hand we will appreciate all of the hard work that has gone into the creation of it.

Ok .. I just got the email from Jamie as well asking me to use paypal. So I guess no book today. This offer was first seen late on the night of the 2nd. I ordered the book the next morning on the 3rd. Why am I only now getting this email that I have to use paypal, while others got it earlier? We were told that we can no longer order copies from the site because they are sold out. Does this mean I won't be recieving my copy till September even though I ordered when there were plenty of copies available? I hope they reserved our copies when they had this problem instead of selling to someone else. Did everyone have this problem asking them to use paypal? I haven't got the email from paypal requesting the money ... I have only recieved the one from Jamie, should I go ahead and use paypal and just enter the amount I thought was charged from my credit card and use Jamie's email as the recipient?

All the orders placed on the website prior to the backorder notice (including yours) are available for immediate shipment. You should receive your payment request soon! Sorry for any inconvenience.

So those that ordered before Monday, I think, should still get their's early.

I agree with rsvictor1976 about the autograph .. I just want it early as well. That is why I chose to pay the MSRP versus saving $10+ elsewhere. I'd rather have an autograph on something that isn't going to get used (and damaged) as much ... like my Annotated Chronicles. But anyway ... I'm happy with the news.

I had ordered mine on July 3rd by Credit Card and received the e-mails today about paypal. Apparently if you got your order in before the website said backordered (which I believe as the 8th) then you should be ok and will receive an advance copy.

They had a problem with their ecommerce site. Most of us talking about paypal originally tried paying with credit cards. They didn't recieve our payment and are now asking us to pay through paypal. Unfortunatly, many of us have not recieved the email that allows us to do that. I'm not sure if this happened with everyone that ordered by credit card or just a select few. So here we sit waiting for that email. Fortunatly, if you have ordered before the 8th then your book should be waiting to ship as soon as they recieve your payment. I guess it is hard to sell a book to someone else that was personalized for you.

Chris,

I apologize for the delay. I’m having to coordinate all of this while on vacation from my laptop. For all U.S and Canada orders, you’re more than welcome to go ahead and send payment for the same amount as your original order to the following e-mail address: sales@margaretweis.com

For International orders, I have to make some calculations, and those customers must wait for my e-mail. Thank you!
