I'm sure this question has been raised many times. I'm also sure that there are a couple of web pages dedicated to this question, buuutt.....

What projects are currently being worked on? What are their statuses (is that a word)?

I am curious, because I would be interested in helping. Although any involvement for me would have to wait until after the honeymoon.

Terrors of Athas, one of my babies, coming out on the heels of core once I get the 3.5 books.

I also have at least three other projects that I want to do after ToA that I am waiting to be approved.

-Villichi suppliment -- an accessory detailing the Villichi race of Athas, will contain new feats, PrCs, and in general fleshing the race out more.

-Ruins of Athas -- an accessory detailing some of the ruins of Athas, there may be one for each of the more popular ruins to follow.

-Return to Black Spine -- in the style of Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil, this will be another module dealing with the Black Spine mountain region again as well as the aftermath of the original module. Got some good ideas for this with some twists if it gets accepted, if not I may still do as unofficial.

Projects being done by others:

-City State of Draj -- this is Jon's and Gab's baby and should be following the heels of core if I do remember correctly.

-Other city projects -- I know there are plans for other city projects, I think Brax has most of these though, not entirely sure on that.

That's all I know for any amount of certainty right now. We do plan on doing epic rules, which I hope we tackle next as a whole. I also know that Dregoth Ascending will be converted to 3e somewhere down the road as well. That's going to be a fun one, can't wait. :D

Hum, it's been about 4 years since there asnt been any "project page" online. Maybe what you can do is just roam through all the ds3ed pages and see what's coming... sorry, I am not too helpful. Here is my .links page

Oh, and btw, if I speak for myself, I have two or three project in mind.

Right now, I am working (each time I get a playing session with my second DS campaing) on a small adventure around the Silt Archipelago and the city of Balic.

I am thinking on doing a more complete work on 3ed trader and Merchant Houses. I know there as been the good accessory Dune Trader, but I will detail more caravan types and silt skimmers.

Along the way, I have another interesting project, but I wont reveal is existance Muhahahahaha! :D

Congrats on the wedding Quarion!

City-State of Draj is basically done, I just need a good kick to finish it up.

The Emissary was pretty far along until core rules demanded more attention and some flaws of the rules at the time popped up (defilers with free metamagic being one of them).... though it's formatted in AD&D style. Redoing it with a 3E adventure format would take a good amount of time.

An adventure for Draj is in the works, with Jon doing most of the work.

Although all the roofs in the Draj adventure are now pink!

There's also my Silt Archipelago stuff. If anybody wanted to try writing an adventure module based on that, I'd certainly be happy to link to it or even host it if needed.

I like what you did there too and need to read it completely, got about half way through. It looks like it has some great info to base some modules around.

There's also Whispers of the Storm, an adventure for 3-5 level characters, set in and around Draj. I need to whip those artists a bit...

Hi all of you,

I'm new, but have a small question:

There used to be this website with lots of DS resources. The site was blackish (If i remember well, it was a couple of years when I last saw it), It had for exemple The City-State of Urik flesshed out and also the Fauna and Flora of Athas. I loved that site but before I could download and print it out i was taken down, does anyone remember this site and has the resources of it.

Thanks

You're thinking of Brax's site. It's got to be the most disorganised site I've ever seen (sorry Brax!). You have to manually figure out the links, because his stuff his spread out over a couple of servers, and you'll get lots of 404 errors.

Look at:

http://brax.qhcf.net
http://members.tripod.com/urbraxa/

His Urik stuff (by David Scheimann) is at http://brax.qhcf.net/~brax/braxland/CSoUrik/urikite.htm

Mmmm.... map goodness. I had a while ago ideas about Draj, but they have been lost in my former life. Of course, I never got the maps made of the city.

I'm going to bring this thread back into reality.

Here is what I have currently planned.

- Finishing up ToA (coming out soonly)

- Villichi supplement (everything you wanted to know about Villichi)

- Athasian regions (Core doesn't plan to do it, so I will do it unofficially)

- Return to Black Spine

Not in that order, though ToA is precedence, and I am giving the Ruins of Athas project back to Jon since we agreed to do that awhile back.

Art, art, art.

I'm up to "Bog Wader" and working my way on through them. Finishing about 1-2 a day, so I'll let you guys do the math. Any format I should send them in? (size, type, etc?)

Currently on about page 20 of Islands of the Silt Archipelago. Sorry it is taking such a long time. It had to be held in abeyance whilst I finished my degree and started my job.

I had hoped to finish it by the end of the year but that is looking about as likely as a completely impossible thing. So I'll shoot for January for Islands and Feb for the tidy up.

Then I think I might have a rest from Dark Sun stuff for a bit.

Here is a a list of things I posted in another thread. Most of my projects are new Dark Sun regions. Complete with people, tribes, customs, social classes etc.

Edge of Athas; Has already been discussed. My goal was to create a new region in the style of the first Dark Sun Map that is as unique as the Dark Sun map was. I have to find a new server for Geocities closed my account. I cannot add anything to it.

Towns ruled by Elemental Clerics. Each town worships its element. They are going to be four towns, a raider village and perhaps some other peoples as well. They are isolated from the Tyr region. I have only created two test renders of the Town of Fire.

First drawing. Mono colors. It took a while to draw.
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003...2/CHVillage.gif

Used filters in Adobe. It took less time.
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003.../TownofFire.jpg

A region just beyond the Tyr region ruled by a water element. I have a map, however, I have yet to post it (I may redo it). It is a simple region where those that live in the element's city live a life of slpendor while those that don't have to toil in the fields. However, it is still much better to be a slave there than it is to be a slave in the Tyr Region.

Using Rise of Nation, Star Wars, Galatic Battleground and Age of Kings graphics, I was going to create the City of Gold, a huge (Graphics wise and file size) trade city in a far off land. Their roofs are made of gold.

Non Dark Sun projects, but are similar in genre.

The Desert Sea; a future Chinese society on a far off world has collapsed and become barbaric. They almost had to start over. I am going to draw, from scracth, all beasts (Permian life), all weapons, Hieroglyphics (some done already, they use round stamps to write), a regional map (completed) and name generators based off of Chinese (done).

The Desert of Decadence; useing Caeser 3 graphics, I have created a city were the nobles live in decadence and the average person lives in poverty. This is about contrast. The nobles get gallons and gallons of water a day while the commoners get far less. The nobles are fat, while the commoners are skinny etc. I am going to use Triassic creatures for the fauna. This set should be very graphic intense. (I have just finished the city map today. I am very proud of it.)

You haven't really been working much on these interdependent projects/products, and a statement of getting them out 'soon' is actually quite misleading.

You're only late by six months, look how old that comment is, heh.

Being the emissary was pretty much done back in the day when I was going to be a playtester, it can't take too much longer to get it fleshed out for 3.5 once it is worked on again. Especially since I have seen a recent copy.

That being said, most people on here know that when anyone from Athas.org says "soon", it's usually not. ;)

Myself included.

If it wasn't correct 6 months ago, and it still isn't correct, then it was even more off 6 months ago. I don't know where you got the idea that it was to be playtested 6 months ago, but I assure you it was not ready for playtesting back then. Trust me.

The only person who has been working on the Emissary recently to my knowledge is me, and that was just some minor things I did just before Christmas.

Athas.org affiliates should be lightning-bolted each time they say 'soon'. Soon has a very subjective and unclear meaning. :D

Please leave the announcements and time schedules in the future for the Product Manager (Gab), Information Contact (Flip), or the Project Coordinator for a given project.

Uh, I was on the playtesting list as well as many others, had the non-disclosure agreements to sign and everything.

Although, you may be right, it wasn't 6 months ago, I think it was MORE than 6 months ago, now that I think about it. ;)

Back in the day before I became Senate member if I recall correctly.

However, it did get pushed back because the core rules were taking too long to get finished and changes kept needing to be made to it.

Doesn't mean it was actually ready ...

Basically, we geared it up for playtesting well before it should have been. That's what Jon's saying.

Maybe in the athas.org release section, the teaser on tE shouldnt mention that it IS in playtesting...

Quick update: (past Athasian Elementals now, and kicking on to all things Erdland and Flailer) Shortly, I will rebuild my website (before this weekend), and set it up with a huge amount of DS art. I'm going to post new monster pics as I finish them. I'll start a new thread when the web page is ready to roll.

Fixed.

... Now, see, this is one of the major sort of reasons that I'm trying to get a proper CMS behind athas.org ... the trick is finding one that I can extend in the directions I need to ...
