Cool, thx...oh no! Looks like the Mystic was drawn by that funky Wheel of Time artist that I dislike. I wonder how many other pics are by this artist (sry for lack of name, never bothered to look it up).

Cool preview.

Your little face looked so sad I just had to give you the stats

Gnomes:

+2 Dex, +2 Int, -2 STR, _2 Wis
Small
speed 20
+2 racial to craft: alchemy
Guild Affiliation
+2 Will
Lang: Common, Gnome
Bonus; Dwarf, Ergot, Ogre and Solamnic
Favored Class: Which ever he takes at 1st

Mad Gnome
+2 DEX, -2 WIS
+2 Open locks, disable device and can use these skills with 0 ranks
No +2 Will
rest is same

Kender:
+2 DEX, -2 STR, -2 WIS
Small
speed 20'
+1 to all saves
+2 racial to Spot, open locks and slight of hand
can use the last two with 0 ranks
-4 to concentration
Taunt* Make a bluff in combat opposed by sense motive. if you win your target is -1 to hit and AC until your next turn. This is a standard action that doesn't draw an AoA. Your opponent is not required to attack you, just likely

Immune to fear
Lang: Common and Kenderspeak
Bonus; Dwarf, Ergot, Elven, Goblin and solamnic
Favored: Rouge

Taunt doesn't sound like it will see much use past the lower levels, unless the -1 penalties increase somehow.

One of my players is very dissapointed with the look of the Kender there. He seems to think that it is vastly underpowered when compared to the other races and comes across as a race that no one would want to play.

Is there more to it than was shown?

Thats what I think, but he compares that to the sleep immunity that elves have. I think that fear effects are a lot more common place than sleep effects in D&D, and so that makes for a big advantage.

My friend also feels that the stat modifiers should add up to 0 at least and not minus 2.

Kender is gimp compaired to Halfling. GIMP!

Might as well strap on the latex clothes and leash...

Sheesh, might as well play halflings, as at least everyone doesn't hate them...

p.s. What is Guild Affiliation?

And thanks for posting, you kind and loving critter, you!

At creation the character (gnome) selects a guild with which he is affiliated. Craft guilds, Technical Guilds and Sage guilds. if he selects Craft guild he gets a racial +2 bonus, Techinal gets +2 profession check, Sage get +2 on all knowledge checks.
