I mean, I'm looking all over the site to find some kind of press release from Wizards of the Coast (aka "the uncaring overlord" as you say ... not good if you're waiting for endorsement from them) or something of that legitimate nature.

Help me out here.

Below is a message from Jim Butler indicating the official fansites. Check out the Alternity discussion list archive for the full scoop.
Both www.alternity.net and www.tequilastarrise.net have become the best places to find Alternity resources and hang out with other Alternity and/or Stardrive fans. Even if they were unofficial they would still be the place to go for the dedicated fan of Alternity.
