Allright, I've been looking throught the DLCS, and loved it. Now that I'm trying to actually write an adventure using it, there are some problems that jump out at me. I'm going to go chapter by chapter-

Introduction- Short but sweet. A couple of pages of to get us interested.

Chapter 1, Races- Done well. Alot of flavor text for each race, some good art, and in my opinion, mechanically balanced. I feel that the large amount of races gives players a wealth of choinces without the FR powergaming stuff. One problem I had was the way they threw charisma penalties at almost EVERYTHING. 9 out of the 20 have charisma penalties.

Chapter 2, Classes and Feats- EXCELLENT. a quick little paragraph on how each class fits in. a couple of new core classes that are ok, and some great prestige classes. THe WOHS is a little ambiguous to me though, and the whole specialization thing i see as a pretty heavy crutch. The spell secrets are well thought out, however.

Chapter 3, Magic of Krynn- EXCELLENT. Basically a nice chunk of flavor text that helps set the whole DL style going.

Chapter 4, Deities- Enjoyable, but too brief. One of the things I like about krynn was It's relatively small pantheon(compared to FR), which allows you to really go in depth into each deity.

Chapter 5, Geography- Sigh............. If i could have part of the book redone, it would be this chapter. I tried using it to plan a campaign, and was quickly lost. COMPLETELY LOST. THe maps are often nowhere near the description of its localities, causing much paage turning. Couple this with the lack of an index, makes this chapter just too frustrating to use. Please, soverign press, for the love of god, publish some maps, and a web index or something.

Chapter 6, The Dragonlance Campaign- Love it, really helps to get the the adventure ideas flowing.

CHapter 7, Creatures of Ansalon- some good creatures, but lots of missing entries. I know the bestiary will take care of this, but i prbably would of gotten rid of the fetch and fireshadow and replaced them with bakali and huldrefolk.

Chapter 8, Dragons of Krynn- good flavor text, and lots of aerial combat rules. the rules look nice, but i will definately have to play test them a few times before i get my grip on them.

Chapter 9, Other Eras of play- good introduction, but i dont think anyone without a real good grasp of the history of krynn will be able to run a campaign with the info in here.

The two adventures a nice but short. Ones for 1st level characters, and the 2nd is for 5th.

Overall- 4 stars out of 5

THe good definetly overshadow the few bad points(like the geography section). I think the real problem is that we all ahve been waiting so long for DL to come in d20 that we just dont wanna wait a month or year for anhting else to come out. It's childish, I know, but true. WE WANT IT NOW.

It is a great piece of work though. and I hope everyone else enjoys it as much as i do.
