I hope someone can help me with this. I was wondering if any of you have ever run a test of High Sorcery. I may have to run one soon and was hoping some could give me ideas on what to do.

The Test involves using magic responsibly. It has a lot to do with morality and the actions taken during the test determine the color of the mage's robes. Before that they wear the color robes of their master.

***EXAMPLE TESTS FROM NOVELS***

***SPOILER ALERT***

During Raistlin's Test (in the novel Soulforge) he was approached by several dark elves who wanted to break into the magic shop owened by Raistlin's friend. Raistlin wanted to warn his friend of the danger. The elves tempted him with the lure of very powerful spellbooks hidden in the basement. Raistlin decided that it was his duty to retrive the books, and maybe look at them...just a little... The dark elves turn on Raistlin, but he defeats them with the help of you know who.

Palin's Test in the short story "The Legacy" (The Second Generation) is similar. He rescues an illusionary Raistlin from the Abyss and is tempted by his uncle (whom he respects) to 'turn to the dark side'. Raistlin offers to apprentice him, give him power, etc. Palin chooses to sacrifice his life rather than allow the Dark Queen to escape from the Abyss.

As I see it, the test is about moral choices. In both cases we have the apprentice mage being offered something that he desperately wants. Raistlin wants power. Palin wants his Uncle's knowledge. In both tests we see the mage making choices. Their choices determine their alignment within the conclave. Palin makes the ultimate sacrifice to defeat evil. He becomes a White Robe. Raistlin is somewhere in the middle. At first he doesn't want to participate and he has doubts throughout the Test. He does break into the mage shop. But he uses the excuse of duty.
All in all that makes him neutral.

I could be way off mark, but that's my opinion.

The Test of High Sorcery is detailed quite well in the DLCS.

The test is also to test the magic of the mage and if he is capable to use it well.

Soo i made some enigme base on the spell my PC mage have.

ex: A goblin sit protected by a wall of force. The door to the next room is lock with no visible way to open it. The mage must see than the goblin is sit on some kind of plate who will open the door if release.... By using is fear spell it will scare the goblin and open the door...

You see the style.
