Hi
I was wondering if someone could tell me why Tracy Hickman is not listed as one of the writers for the Dragonlance Campaign Setting or for the Age of Mortals? Is he no longer associated with Dragonlance? I really, really hope not.

I'll apologize in advance if this is something thats common knowledge, but i looked through the threads and didn't see it mentioned anywhere. It's been a long time since I've adventured on Krynn (11 years) but when I heard about the new DLCS I just knew I had to get back. I just finished reading the War of Souls this weekend. WOW! That is why I really hope that my favourite writting team hasn't split up. ;)

I don't think that Tracy is out of the picture yet...well at least as far as novels go. I know that he has made large contributions to the Annotated Legends. However I don't think that we will ever see another Weis and Hickman tandem novel. Tracy and his wife Laura are currently working on their own fantasy world, Bronze Canticles. There is word that both Margaret and Tracy will be involved in the upcoming Dragonlance movie project. I don't know where Tracy fits in on the gaming scheme of things right now...I don't keep up as closely with that side of things.

Tracy is really busy right now on a new and exciting project he's working on with his wife, Laura Curtis, called Bronze Canticles.

Check out this link:

Bronze Canticles

Long story short, Bronze Canticles has got Tracy thoroughly busy right now. He is functioning as a consultant though, so his input is still in those books.

Tracy is busy working on his Bronze Canticles stuff with his wife. Margaret is busy working on her Dragonvarld books, and the sovpress stuff.

Tracy contributed the intro to the DLCS, and did a bunch of stuff for annotated legends, but aside from consulting, i don't think he has much to do with DL these days.

Well, thanks to all three of you then!

Do you really think that they'll both be able to stay away for long though? I'd love to see Tracy Hickman write another Dungeon adventure.

DL movie project? I just thought that was a wet dream fantasy of every one. Is there serious talk of this? Cartoon, CGI, or real actors?

The talk isn't as serious as everyone seems to think. I don't think it's in pre-production or anything yet.

The biggest piece of evidence I've seen would be...
" I would love to make a film on Dragonlance and, in fact, have already worked up a treatment for a film."

I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Posted on Dragonlance.com by Dragonhelm:

Update from GenCon 2003

Update from Peter Archer on the DL Movie: a major studio has an option out on a Dragonlance movie. They have produced a script based on Dragons of Autumn Twilight. This is not the same studio that released the Dungeons & Dragons movie, and the studio has expressed interest in involving both Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman in the project.

Well...I suppose it depends on what you call "pre-production." I'd call having the a studio get the movie optioned, and having finally completed the script, and having a budget...in my limited experience with movie making...I'd call that "pre-production"...especially once one has a budget (but I call working on the script by the company that optioned the movie pretty close to "pre-production" too)
