I Really Wish WOTC Would Read These Posts!

I mean, ok, sure, there's a lot of posts going on, but would it kill the WOTC employees/administrators to look through these posts and answer any questions that they happen to know the answers to as like a customer service thing? Like for example, I want to know if some of the lists I've seen of PS products are complete. I could post the list, and sure, another user might know, but WOTC would definitly know, even THOUGH they're not TSR anymore, but would they ever answer? Nooooooo. Sorry, I'm done venting now. I guess I'll post the list, and ask the question: does anyone know if this is a COMPLETE listing of all Planescape gaming products, or can anyone think if I'm missing any?

A complete list of Planescape releases is available here. Still, I have to say that I've never heard of any 'Planescape Conspectus' or 'Planescape Sketchbook'. Could you post some details on these?

The Planescape Sketchbook was an unnofficial folio of Planescape concept art released by one of the artists who did work for Planescape. Not DiTerlizzi, but one of the other artists. It was printed in limited numbers, and good luck finding a copy. If you did I'll buy it from you. ;)

The Planescape Conspectus is available on Ebay periodically, and was just a short overview of the setting. As far as I know it may have just been released as a way to attract more folks to the setting. It seems more a promotional tool than anything else. Had a neat poster though.

The sketchbook was Dana Knutson's work IIRC, and the conspectus was a posterlike fold out I got in an issue of Dragon.

The conspectus also got included in some of the boxed sets (in Europe at least) - tho' I can't remember off hand which ones. Pretty tho' it may be, it's definitely not an essential for a Planescape collection. Now then what about those Ral Partha minis?

I remember getting the conspectus as a batch of TSr related flyers a few years back at a game store. I think they were sent out as promotional aids to game stores. If I remember correctly, they also did a similar thing for Ravenloft, Dark Sun, Birthright, etc.
I'll have to do some digging to see if I still have them all.

The conspectus was lame and can be had for the overly price of 20+ USD on ebay. Just saw the Dark Sun Conspectus go for 20 something bucks. None of them were worth it, even if each had a map of the game setting. Unless your so in a pinch for a game map that its worth it to you.

Alright, time for me to chime in, since I started this post. First, to RigorMortis, well, that’s obviously not a complete listing of Planescape products, since I’ve introduced you to 2 that aren’t on there, so you should probably stop referring people to it. And to March2.5, I don’t care if it sucks, if it’s Planescape, I want it. I’m trying to collect all the Planescape stuff. And yes, I know I didn’t include novels or miniatures, right now I’m just trying to get a complete list of rpg gaming materials from the Planescape Setting, which leads me back to my original question, can anyone either think of any more that I might be missing or else confirm the completeness of this list?

Hmmm, you're not the only one.

Anyways, back to the subject at hand. WotC does not have a customer service department for D&D. Heck, I doubt WotC has a customer service department at all. There are less than 10 people working on D&D, period. None of the people that worked on PS currently work at WotC as far as I know. So no, there is likely nobody outside of a fan that can help you make a complete PS products. You could try reaching a CEO or something, but with that attitude, I doubt your letter would make it past a secretary.

Hey, now come on. That's not fair. I'm not trying to be hostile, well, maybe it might seem that way when you read it, but that's not how I mean it at all. Anyway, I would like to apologize to anyone who I offended, I didn't mean to sound that way. And as for a CEO knowing, I doubt it. They run businesses, not memorize every product their company makes. I figured that probably only a really into-it fan would know, and I was hoping someone on this board might be that fan.

Woah there bucky. There's a difference between being a collecting fan, and being overly obssessed. Believe me, I know, I collect RPG games and material myself (still bumming about missing the Factol's War book for PS, the last one I need ;)). I was just pointing out that the conspectus was a flyer, a fold out with only the type of information on it that you would find on the back of the boxed sets and a sample map that is about as usefull as a sketch drawing on used toilet paper if you already have any maps of Planescape. I've yet to see a conspectus go for less than 20 bucks on auction because most bidders don't realize its a sham, a free fold out promo flyer. I understand the enthusiasm about collecting 'everything', but trust me, this is akin to collecting a magazine about Gardening that happen to have an advertisement about Planescape.

If it's only gaming materials that you care about, why are you making such a big deal out of the Planescape Sketchbook and Conspectus? One is an art book and the other is a promotional handout. If the list rigor_mortis linked to is identical to your list except for those two items, then I'd say it's a fair bet that you've got the complete list. 'Kay?

So, does that mean you guys think this is the whole list? I mean was there ever and is there still a verified "official list"? And if there isn't, is there at least a verifiable unofficial list?

Yes, that is the entire list as far as anyone knows, verified with my own PS collection that is only missing Faction War and the rather poor novel trilogy

Now that is a complete list! I didn't realize there were so many mini's. I've got Pentar and Ely Cromlich, but I would love to get my hands on... well damn near all of 'em.

I don't know why you're saying the conspectus is crap? It's actually pretty well put together. Sure it's not as detailed as a lot of the in box maps, but it is visually stunning to look at. Don't knock the little things. The Devil's in the details (or as a planewalker might say, "the Pit Fiend's in the Particulars.")

Unless you can get the conspectus CHEAP don't bother. If I remember right here, and I'm not definate on it, the conspectus was well, free originally. Either promotional material or bundled with something else or distributed for free in gaming stores.

*shrugs* I wouldn't pay for it, however if anyone EVER managed to find a copy of the Planescape concept art sketchbook, I'd sell other peoples' kidneys for it. ;)

" I could post the list, and sure, another user might know, but WOTC would definitly know, even THOUGH they're not TSR anymore, but would they ever answer?"

Yes, but if they answered, they're representing the company, and if they're representing the company, then they'd be quoted, and if they're going to be quoted, it's got to be official, and if it's got to be official, it's got to go through approval by Legal first, and if it has to do that, it'll take at least 3 months per question...

easier just not to answer J Random Questioners, and only make Huge Approved Responses or to let people just work it out for themselves (which, btw, costs them much less $$).

cynical and jaded, yes, but you know it's the way it works.
