Just curious as to what everyone is working on. Quite a few people have mentioned pet projects, but only a few have posted any kind of relevant status about them.

In a nutshell, what kind of Dark Sun projects are you currently developing? What's the status of the project? Is it just an idea on the back burner or one that you don't have the time to delve further into? If so, toss the idea out and see what others can do with it. Are you simply stuck? Once again, see if someone here can give you a nudge in the right direction.

I'm currently working on THE BOOK OF THE ELEMENTS, describing all spells for Elemental clerics, divided out per Element. plus I'm adding al Elemental related prayers from other campaign worlds. (ie Forgotten Realms dwarves supplement has a lot of Earth spells, Al Qadim I'm converting the wizard spells into Elemental clerical spells). However all is in 2nd Edition.

Secondly I'm working on a follow up for this book, in which the visual effects of spellcasting (mainly priestly).

And than last after that I'm going to start on a system for spell components purchase, depending on the needs of different DM's (purchase per spell level, per spell or specific for every item). On this I could require some help as I would have to compose a list of all spellcomponents.

All thee project are going to be in the same format as the Tyrian Irrigation System which can be found on Gab's site

Been steadily working on The Scorched Plateau region, (concentrating first on the Ssurran) and have just about finished an expanded write-up on the Moon Runners (a la Elves of Athas). I've also sketched out a bunch of other elven tribes of the region and will give them the same treatment. I'm a bit busy with other stuff at the moment, but I'll get the elven doc out sometime soon...

I also held off my revision of the Tradecraft article until I got 3.5 but noticed the other day that the illustrious Grummore has something tradery in the works. Grummore, you wanna share some thoughts on this?

Heh, it was reading your idea about the Scorched Plateau region on the old DS boards that got me wondering how far along the various projects were ;)

Good to hear to haven't dropped it and can't wait to see it.

I've been building some java programming code based off of a very familiar RPG system, of which I am legally restricted from mentioning. Dunno what I'm going to do with it yet, might make a monster-designer, or possibly a game with it. Then again, I might not like how it turns out and just file it away for storage...

d20 Conversion (not D&D) of Dark Sun. Currently upgrading what I've already done for 3.5

Thanks Mach - every little nudge helps to keep the lava flowing. In addition to being bizzy, Ive also been on vacation for a couple of weeks (I am posting this on board the ferry back to Holland and find this extremely kewl - but this is probably just a sign of what a old fert I really am. Heh heh heh...)

Shei-Nad, I wouldn't be surprised if the outbreak of 3.5itis isn't responsible for the sudden slowdown in most of our pet projects. I'm looking forward to seeing your revisions. I especially liked some of the stuff you did on skills and feats and your equipment lists are nice and comprehensive too

KirNaNog, I bashed out a bunch of extra elemental domains for my new DS game, mainly drawing on unconverted DS2 spells. I can mail you a copy if you like, once I'm back on dry land. It's a bit rough but maybe you can filch an idea or two...

I am getting ready to start outlining my ideas for epic level DS groovyness. I doubt I'll have anything postable until about October, the way life is going right now.

I've had a writeup for Makla and the Smoking Crown Mtns. brewing in my head for the past couple years now. One of these days I'll get it all out.

That would make a very interesting project Cyrian. There was a website that gave a little detail to the Smoking Crown region, or perhaps that was merely the title of the website, either way, I can no longer find it anywhere.

I always thought the place would make for a great escape style adventure done in the good old fashion WWII movie style.

What I was thinking of doing was delevoping just what's under the Lake of Golden Dreams that made all those tunnels that people can see, and getting the Brotherhood of the Mind involved in there, plus some...other stuff. >:]

I have the idea popped up in my mind yesterday: once the core DS 3.5 is finished I will go through the class books (Sword & Fist and the rest) and check what is usable flavourwise and mechanic wise from them on Athas, maybe with some modifications. Of course this wouldn't be an official document, but there is a lot of good stuff there which are worth to use in DS. So the result would be a kind of tips-and-tricks to players and DMs to further enhance DS.

I hope it doesn't hurt WotC's rights and I won't be sent to prison for that...

As I said a while back I am working on a mud completely dedicated to the Darksun world, I am about 2% done, No doubt I will steal away armageddon's playerbase, but that's the gig man.

1) First Draft done, see this link: For Jon: Quarion's "long awaited" magic system

2) Coming next week. The change is only in psionic combat.

3) This will take a while as I mull over the pros and cons of clerics with access to the "sphere of the cosmos" :D

4) Coming along slowly. Work is progressing, but I've been busy doing things like work.

1. The Republic Geography Texts (For Dark Sun (Edge of Athas)
2. Searching for Tiberian Sun structure graphics to create a futuristic cyberpunk city.
3. Dinosauria; using some cool looking civilization 2 city icons to create a map of a world where man and dinosaur co-exist together.
4. The Return of Andropinis (What the Tyr Region will be like in 1000 years).
5. The Desert Sea (a city-state on the shores of a desert sea where I draw everything using the plain 3-shade system (light, medium, dark). By everything I mean, from the map to the creatures to the weapons and tools used by these people).

I usually work on several things at once for I get ideas for each of them at different times.

I'm currently working on a tournament-constrainted module or better said, i'm getting back to the idea (i informed the forum of it quite a few months ago). I'm still in the design process of it but it's moving.

The Silt Archipelago is on hold, as with most of my projects, as I slog my guts out on my degree project. Should be done in a month or so.

So, if anyone is interested in a C++ 3D engine representing Einstein's kinematics then that is all groovy. The application to Dark Sun though is not great.

When that's done I'm hoping to finish off the Silt Archipelago stuff first of all.

I also have a few other ideas that may or not come to fruition...

An alternative arcane magic supplement with rules for wizards, sorcerers, advanced beings and bards. Just thought I'd compile all the thinking I've been doing.

A Dark Sun PBeM game - an expedition led by the dwarf seer, Ottox of Balic, to the far side of the Sea of Silt.

A Java cellphone Dark Sun game.

But the relativity comes first at the moment, I'm afraid.

3) Still mulling over if I want to do this or not.

4) Slowing coming along. I wouldn't expect this for another month or two.

It just popped into my mind: a lot of people playing in the 'old' DS setting, I mean ignoring the Prism Pentad, and take the setting as it is presented in the first DS box. Is there anybody who does a project in this era? Also, is there a project to describe the cities and have options for different eras? (i.e. how Tyr looked like before Kalak's fall, as the 'after' setting is described in the City State of Tyr accessory.)

3) I have placed this update under "a question on the elements". I still want to add spells found in Dragon Magazines, 3e sourcebooks, and maybe even elemental wizard spells.

I must admit I started off biting much more than I could chew, but I hope that I was able to make changes that will be a) consistent with what is being done in the rest of the DS community, and b) able to give each element a little more individuality.
