#1zombiegleemaxJul 30, 2003 2:03:15 | Im kinda new to Greyhawk (used to play hombrew world) - So what are the Valley elves ? - Why do other elves hate them ? - If Iuz is a Demigod , what are his domains ? It's my first time Dm , in a long long time. Help me out please |

The valley elves are totally loyal to 'the exalted one' Jason Krimeah also known as 'the black one' who is an uber-powerful wizard who lives in and rules the vale of the mage. This loyalty may be why other elves don't like them, not sure. Iuz is the Demigod of deceipt, pain, oppresion and evil with the domains chaos, evil & trickery. His prestige domains are dominion, madness, mysticism, pestilence and summoning. Hope that helps. |

I think other elves hate them because they helped the drow at some time in their past...or was that the snow elves. Yes it was the snow elves, here is a link to an article on them. http://members.aol.com/cathbhadhx/snowelf.zip And in it it says that Valley Elves are their only allies, and it probably stems from the fact that other elves don't consider either of them "true elves", whatever that means. Have you got some kind of official published referance for this? ie published sourcebook or module I could read. WG12 says that Valley Olves believe that they are an off-shoot of High Olves but in reality they are a seperate race of Olvenkind tracing their time in the vale back around 15,000 years (P11) |

The snow elves were deceived into allowing passage (for a large profit) of the drow through a mountain pass they controlled, not knowing—so they claimed—that the drow were serving Lolth and had recently declared war on their cousin elves. While never formally condemned by their relatives, the snow elves have been universally shunned by them ever since. Valley elves, themselves largely disliked by others, tolerate snow elves perhaps because each views the other as sharing a similar plight—neither race is considered “true elves” by their cousins.' This doesn't explain why the Valley Olve are disliked but an interesting article by Dragon magazine though. |
