What is that upon the Dragonlance horizon?? Could it be another Trilogy about a fallen god regaining his place as a deity? And is that a second right behind him about the return of a dark goddess??

Well my cynicism aside, I can't see Dragonlance keeping two of the three major gods from the original novels out of the loop for long (Paladine, Mishakal and Tahkisis). I don't know, it's just that everything I have read lately in dragonlance seems coated in an RPG spinoff supplement.

That aside, I guess I will wait and view the future of Dragonlance with baited breath, hoping that I'm wrong and the writers will forget the D20 mechanics when writing their tales and go with the story...

Just my opinion,

You can rest easy, Arandur - it's been said many times that there are ZERO plans to restore fallen gods to their "rightful" places.

Regarding your spinoff comment, I have to ask what books you're thinking about here, since none come to my mind. Likewise, there's very little reason to fear the "gamers who write" analogy -- this isn't the War of the Spider Queen. No DL author that I can recall writes novels for the purpose of adding game material.

It's just that when I'm reading the novels I get the feeling it's being done to either pave the way for the new setting rules or a supplement. It's just a feeling I get when reading these novels (it could just be myself).

It's just a direction which I have ntoiced that RPG games and affiliated literature have taken in the last 5 or so years (began more with TSR I guess). Things seem to be written with the dollar value in mind, which I can understand, it's just a shame.

And I know that you mention it's not the Forgotten Realms but I can't help the feeling that it's all about money and not about the tale anymore (which is sad, in my opinion)...

There are NO plans on resurrecting Takhisis or to restore Valthonis to godhood. Rest assurred 'bout that. That would completely and utterly ruin the entire point about the punishment and sacrifice. 'sides, Takhisis and Paladine have had lots of time in the spotlight, time for a few other gods to shine ;)

The game and the novels are intimately tied to one another, however, as we are working closely with the various authors to ensure that both sides know what's going on.
