DLCS chronology - sufficient detail?

I like the dragonlance setting, but I am very behind on it. I have read chronicles and legends obviously, and I have read a number of the prequel novels, and some of the villain series etc..., but I have not read any of the recent escapades. I don't know who Mina is, I'd never heard of this thing with Chaos, I only yesterday learnt that Takhisis was supposedly dead.

I think my last novel was one of the first ones with Palin in it, that's about it. So I'm behind. I'm not asking anyone to recount everything I missed here, but I was wondering whether DLCS would have enough info in it to get me roughly up to speed. I admit, the dribs and drabs I have read here and at the dragonlance nexus give me some trepidation, I'm not sure I like everything they have done with the setting (I'm not a fan of mystics or sorcers in DL), but I figure I should learn more of the details before judging.

Yes...its timeline has enough info for you. However...the Age of Mortals book has a much more comprehensive 5th Age timeline...you'll get many many more gritty details in that one. But for the over all, high level picture, the DLCS will work just fine.
