i am starting a new campaing soon and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on Ravenloft. I am going to be playing a Wild Elf Barbarian in my friend's Ravenloft campaign. we are going to be starting in a general homebrew world and then going to be "sucked in" to Ravenloft. i have no idea when/where and how it is going to be done. i have played Ravenloft in 2ed a little but dont remember much.

any help would be appreciated.

If your DM has any of the Ravenloft books, ask if you can borrow them and peruse them a bit.

If it looks like you'll be playing for a while in the setting, you might want to purchase or at least look over the 3E sourcebooks. They should help you understand the unique rules and such of Ravenloft, add more depth to your character, and gain a general grasp of the setting itself.

General information on the books can be found here .

You can get much more information on Ravenloft by going to Secrets of the Kargatane, checking out the Malodorous Goat Tavern message boards, and asking your questions there; the board regulars are very knowledgable about Ravenloft, but they're a little odd. ;)

take intimidate as a skill, being elven gives you a +3 anyhow ^.^

I'm an elf! boogedy boo!

sorry, running joke with my group:D

don't be surprised if some people aren't the nicest to your elf. I wouldn't be surprised if you had soem monster lore either. Just a few thoughts
