Does one need to read the Novels to use the Game?

Should one read the Novels to improve the level of Gaming?

Will the Game include "synopsis" of the Novels or would that require to much space?

Thanks.

(I will be checking out the Game, I just thought I would ask the experts:D )

Personally, I'd read the novels just because they're good books. As for if you absolutely have to... Probably not. The DLCS (Dragonlance Campaign Setting) should contain an overview of the history of Krynn, so you'll have a "Cliff's Notes" of sorts, stating only the most important facts where novels have directly affected history. I would still recommend the novels, however. They are pretty good. It may also give you a better understanding of the setting's feel if you do read the books.

You don't need to read the novels, no, but they will help to give you a fuller and broader view of the world.

There will be some novel materials covered, but not everything.

The way things are working out, you can just read the novels or just play the game. However, if you do both, you will see how one ties into the other, and will have a greater understanding of the world.
