What do you think about a Gnome Wizard leaving Mount Nevermind?
Let's say he has to leave cause of his Life Quest. Could he ever hope to join the Guild of High Sorcery? Or does he want to join it? When he doesn't, has he to hide for other Robes? Where is he able to study his magic?
thanks for your thoughts...

Gnome Wizard must join the Conclave. I'm sure he knows it and so do the other Gnomes of Nevermind. If the WoHS discovered that an entire race had developed a tradition of Wizardry and completely ignored them, well, hmph, oooooooooooh, eeeee, ouch. Get it? :D

Your Gnome could decide to not joint he Conclave but they are a complex beauracracy that he could lean stuff from. Perhaps people there would help him with his LifeQuest, or he could help them make the Tower more structurally sound. And then that whole always looking over shoulder for fear of being nabbed by a Renegade Hunter.

And it's not unusual that a gnome joins the guild of High Sorcery? Are there many gnomes with robes?

Virtually none. Gnome wizards are considered renegades but are apparently too much trouble to go and deal with because they stay in Mt Nevermind. I'm sure if they left, they'd be required to take the Test like any other wizard.

Cheers,
