Just got the DLCS and am reading through it and drooling on myself (more than normally) as I flick through the pages. I can't believe it! They actually released something in Oz before the quoted date of release.

Only Dragonlance could be so bold (Hugs book)

Curses, you are so lucky.... now you've got me thinking that there might be some vague hope of seeing the DLCS in Canada prior to the 22nd.

OMG!!!!

I can't believe it is already out in Australia. Where did you get it from???? I am from BrisVegas, and the 'best' (?) gaming store in the city said they would get it on the 26th of August.

This is quite a mystery I think. Because I was just looking at two online shops where they had the new DLCS. Of course I've already ordered it.

That the DLCS is out in Denmark is even more a mystery to me, than it is out in Australia.

But then again, some are lucky

It's out in Mind Games and another store called Nepoleons Military Bookstore down here and retails for around $80. Limited number of copies however...

I think it will be Faeryl. It should retail for about the same in Brisbane as it does in Melbourne. It's not core system so they tend to be more expensive for some reason. I know it's a lot of cash but it is a damn fine book!

How quickly does Amazon ship? I just ordered the book from them. Do they tend to ship on the release date? Before? After? It's my first time ordering from them, as I usually use www.chapters.ca.

This is amazing news indeed. I live in Perth and was told just yesterday that I would have to wait until early September. How come it was delivered to Melbourne so soon, and the western side of the country has to wait???.

I have no idea Sage, it seems that most of the RPG stores in Melbourne have the book in stock. They told me it was going to arrive after the 22nd of August but when I went into the store, there it was on the shelf!

Bought it through the Nepoleon Military Bookstore but have friends who bought it in the Mind Games stores, I think they are a franchise (Mind Games) but I don't know if they stretch into Western Australia.

Well for all you Australian bargain hunters out there www.criticalgaming.com.au in Sydney has a pre-order special on DLCS for only $65.95 though it runs out on Friday.

He said he will have copies by Friday if not tomorrow so I am going to pop in and pick mine up. Pity about having to wait for AoM though.

Cheers.

Just picked up my copy from Napoleons Bookshop (Melbourne), lunchtime today. $82 (less with club discount, which I forgot).
:D

Napoleons does have a store at:
358 George Street
Brisbane
07 32291903

according to the business card I have, but I don't know if it has arrived instore there yet.

Having had my first skim through, I'm disappointed with some sections and the heavy emphasis on post-War of Souls; but that's where the universe is at the moment.

I can see WoHS becoming the new min-max replacement for Red Wizard (and any GM allowing both P-classes deserves the disaster they get!).

Some folks thought that just because it was in the revised DMG for 3.5, that it was some kind of official core PrC.

The Red Wizard's an example of a setting-specific prestige class, however, and therefore is out of place anywhere but the Forgotten Realms. That doesn't mean you couldn't just change the names here and there, but given that it performs the same function more or less as the Wizard of High Sorcery, best to leave it out.

Napoleon's in Melbourne has it? I called in at Napoleon's Bookstore here in Brisbane last week, and the guy there couldn't even quote a concrete release date for Australia. He couldn't find the DLCS in the Wizards product release guide, and so told me it probably wouldn't be available 'till after Christmas! I have no idea what the bloke was smoking at the time to be so completely clueless about such a heavily anticipated release.

Faeryl, which Brisbane gaming store quoted you that August 26th date? I'm assuming it wasn't Napoleon's.

In my experience, they ship as soon as the book becomes available (so, in your case, on the 22nd). That being said, the date you'll receive it depends greatly on which shipping method you picked.

I've used the "super saver" method before, and it hasn't taken them the stated 5-9 days to ship it, though... I think it depends on how busy they are with other orders!

Hi all,

Just picked up my copy from Critical Gaming in Sydney. Address is,

Level 2, 191 Clarence Street
Sydney

or you can buy online at www.criticalgaming.com.au

If you buy it today or tomorrow you get it for $65.95 which was their pre-prder special. WOOHOO.

I think they have 5-6 copies left but said that if someone came in today or tomorrow and they were sold out they would honour the $65.95 price and have more in by Monday or Tuesday next week.

Now I have to start doing some serious geeky reading.

Cheers.

Do you mean that it takes more than 5-9 days to ship it? Or less?

One bad thing I noticed about Amazon over Chapters. If you place an order with Amazon, for more than one book, the shipping is calculated together. But if one book ships before the other, shipping is recalculated to be separate.

At Chapters every time I've ordered multiple books, I got one shipping cost...even if some books shipped at different times.
