I first picked up the Dragonlance Chronicles when I was 14 or so, so, about 13 years ago. And since then have gone through a great number of Dragonlance Novels.

But out of the 30 some DL books on my shelf, the "latest" one I have is Dragons of Summer Flame, and then.. that's it.

I have to leap and dodge out of the way of War of Souls information, having never picked it up. I don't know why, but I'm going to have to soon.

I know a TON about Dragonlance during the War of the Lance and before, but not much after. I tell my friends I know more about Krynn than I do about Earth, but still I haven't pushed past Dragons of Summer Flame.

Could those wise souls here please post a "series list" of "major" books to read in order so I can catch up.

I assume it's along the lines of:

Chronicles

Legends

The Second Generation

Dragons of Summer Flame

--- Haven't read books bellow here---
I'd like to read the important ones really so I follow an order in my reading as I catch up on Ages and Times on Krynn that I've never delved into, I don't want to miss out on something.

Also I have a rather 'advanced' group of gamers, who most of which know about the War of the Lance, and starting out in a new direction may be a great addition to our weekly game. Otherwise, it's the same War of the Lance for them.

This is a handy little guide for the novels:

You might want to read the Dragons of a New Age and the Bridges of Time series before advancing on to the War of Souls.

I know how you feel. The best suggestion is some of the older modules that are out there. with a little tweeking you can have a great campaign up and running in no time. Time of the dragon, a Pre war of the lance campaign (Published in 92, Zeb Cook i believe wrote it). I hope that helps, still trying to catch myself up too.

They screwed it up, and then realized they screwed it up, and tried to fix it. That sums up all the books you missed. I read most of them, and am just glad I paid about half price at the used book store, for most of them. I grew up reading the old ones, and I just found the newer ones to be flop.

If you like them, great, but I didn't.
