Aug 24, 2003 20:44:32 I've tried FOUR times to download the City-State of Draj and Terrors of the Dead Lands. Each time, the download cut off mid-stream, leaving me with incomplete and useless files. And each time requiring 45 to 90 minutes...

Is there some way to either mirror the site, or maybe break up the files into 2MB units? That's about as big a file as a dialup user can reliably download from athas.org...

Aug 24, 2003 22:52:23 If you (or anyone else for that matter) has a problem downloading fro Athas.org, just drop me an email and I'll send you the files. I can't break them up for you or anything like that and it may take longer than a normal download, but its worth it if its your only option. Aug 25, 2003 8:33:24 There is, essentially, a two fold problem with the site currently:

It's hosted on the same machine as a site with an incredibly broken CGI script that has a tendancy to run away with the CPU. This is hopefully going to be resolved in the near future ... the hosting facililty just got a bunch of new machines, and the admin is going to try to isolate that site so that it only harms itself.

And the other reason is that, after the last two product announcements, there has been behavior that really looks like a DOS attack on the site. With, of course, all of the usual bad effects of a DOS.

I've been working with the site admin on trying to get things worked out.

... Sorry I've been absent lately. As usual, I'm working my tail off at work, and on the DS3 stuff (and site stuff. Trying to get things back to a more featureful state, now that DS3 is about ready) ... outside of work, what's not usual is that I've been trying to buy a house, which has kinda thrown all of my free-time out of whack.

Well, Gab emailed me a link to a temp mirror site for the City-State of Draj. So, after about an hour, I now have that supplement.

Anyone want to help with Terrors of the Dead Lands?
