THE DRAGONLANCE - my humble version

I've followed the discussion about "The" Dragonlance on this forum, and i really like the "new (official?)version" of the Dragonlance

I noticed that the weapon is really deadly only on a critical hit, and that was a little disappointing for somebody who played the 2nd edition AD&D version of the dragolance.

I understand that 3rd edition has a completely new/different STYLE of play, so i tried to come up with a Dragonlance that was something in between the two editions.

Ok, no more senseless gibbering, here's my dragonlance... every kind of comment is much appreciated!

PS apologies in advance for my poor english...

The Dragonlance

Special Powers: Dragonbane, Holy, Ignores Natural Armor Class - these three powers only work against Evil Dragon
example: when a dragonlance hits an evil goblin, it's not treated as a holy weapon (no additional 2d6 damage), when it hits a good dragon (!) it's not treated as a Dragonbane weapon (no additional 2d6 damage), and when it strikes a Giant it doesn't ignore his Natural Armor Class.

When created only with the Silver Arm or only with the Hammer of Kharas, it's a +2 weapon (lesser dragonlance).
When created with both, it's a +4 weapon (greater dragonlance).

Footman:
The footman dragonlance is 8ft long, weights 16 lbs and can be used in two ways

as a Longspear - two-handed simple wapon - 10ft reach - dmg 1d8 (crit 20 x3) - can be set against a charge for duble dmg, can be thrown at -4 th, range increment 10ft
as a Lance - two-handed martial weapon - 10ft reach - dmg 1d8 (crit 20 x3) - double damage when used on a charging mount, can be wielded with one hand

Special Dragon Damage: When the wielder scores a critical hit against an Evil Dragon, the Lance inflicts an additional damage of 1 permanent CON point per level of the wielder

example I: a 10th level character with 16 STR armed with a lesser dragonlance will inflict - ((1d8+7)x3)+4d6+10 CON points - on a critical hit against an Evil Dragon

example II: a 10th level character with 16 STR armed with a lesser dragonlance mounted on a CHARGING horse will inflict - ((1d8+7)x4)+4d6+10 CON points - on a critical hit against an Evil Dragon

Mounted:
the mounted dragonlance is 16ft long, weights 32 lbs and can be used properly only when mounted on dragonback and set in a special shield affixed to the dragonsaddle, which gives the dragonrider a +3 AC shield bonus

Longlance - two-handed exotic weapon - 15ft reach - dmg 2d6 (crit 20 x3) - double damage when used on a charging mount, can be wielded with one hand

Special Dragon Damage: When the wielder scores a critical hit against an Evil Dragon, the Lance inflicts an additional damage of 1 permanent CON point per level of the wielder or per HD of the Dragon mount, whichever is greater

example: a 10th level character with 16 STR armed with a greater dragonlance mounted on a CHARGING 20HD dragon will inflict - ((2d6+9)x4)+4d6+20 CON points - on a critical hit against an Evil Dragon

The Dragonlance is still deadly with a critical hit, but maintains a certain amount of danger even on a normal hit, 'cause the tip of the Dragonlance will cut through dragon scale as a hot knife cuts through butter... at least, you don't need a natural 20 to scare a Dragon...i mean, it's a DRAGONLANCE

you are holding in your hands!

Special Powers: Dragonbane, Holy, Ignores Natural Armor Class -

Ignoring natural armor is a bit too powerful wouldn't you say?

For example, going against a 3.0 great Red wyrm, with AC 41 , you reduce the AC to AC 2. That means even the lowest 1st level fighter has a really good chance to hit a dragon size.

you might want to ignore half natural armor.
