Funny enough this was the first post Wos campaign idea I had after finishing Vanished moon, and I have heard other people say so.
Futhermore it is also posted in DLCS (yes we, my gaming got it yesterday, so now I have access to it, SO SWEET).

It is the quest for Takhisis Tomb.
I was thinking of making it a medium/high -level campaign, but I am a little that it becomes too FR'ish. Here it goes.

Prelude:
In glimts Takhisis foresaw many possible futures in the long years when she sleept and regained her strengh after the moving of krynn.
Therefor she also foresaw the possibility of paladine sacrificing himself for the balance, If the gods ever found krynn again.
She took her precausions.
She created a small amulet and filled it with just a tine spark of the power, her divinity, her essence.
And at the night of storm she both returned to krynn, she also created a secret burial site, with a portal leading too a small pocket plane she also constructed named Dusjoon.

When takhisis was slewn by Silvanoshei she was taken by Mina to her secret burial site deep in the garnet mountains.

Some years after WoS "powerful" heroes (PC's) set out to discorver if their really is such a thing as "Takhisis' Tomb".
The most naturel place to scearch is of course the sanction and neraka areas, but they are empty.
The most interresting encounter is a ancient blue dragon whom they can trade information with.
It (she) tells them that in recent years, evil dragons have begin to fear a place far to west in western mountains. Some young dragons have felt a lure to go there and they have disappeared.
After a long trails and with help of a tracker, who sets them up and turns out to be a cleric of the dark queen or the one god (LATER), the PC's finally reach the Garnet Mountains.
after tracking a young dragon (obvios not nessaceraly killing it) in the area they find a very old abandoned magetower. due to the erosion it is now half covered in dirt and rocks, and the other half has collapsed.
In a central room in the tower they find a pedistal, which holds a large empty orb. (yes empty = no longer active)
After a through scearch the PC's discorved ancient stairs leading downwards.
After scearching some mineshafts and rooms (not a part of the tower) the PC's finally reach the tomb of Takhisis.
It is a large underground Cavern filled with unnaturel light with no apperent source. It has a lake (35x35ft.) which is a part of a major underground river.
Takhisis lieis on a stonetable and besides her is a cistern with a little water in it, it is runed and has the five headed dragon on it. She is dressed in a black robe, pale, beautiful and wears a medillion/amulet with a cresent black moon and a five headed dragon on it.
The tomb also holds a number of tomes. When the PC's scearch the tomes this happens:

1. the cleric of the dark queen reveiles himself and activites the portal. He touches the five headed dragon and the cistern light up with a faint red glow. Before anyone can react he poors some water from the cistern on the lips of Takhisis and her eyes opens...

2. If the cleric is dead at this point, one of more of the PC's will eventually scearch the cistern. One of them (only one) will see a large dragon of undeciepheble colour which dominates him/her.
He gets an urge to touch the cistern and poor water from it on Takhisis' lips. The cistern will also begin to glow this time when he touches it. I the others try to stop him, he will respond almost mechanicly:
- She deserves to be shown respect, let me wash her, she was once a godess, a creator of the world".

When Takhisis wakes up, she couhfs blood and hyperventilates. But as the water is flowing from her lips the medallion/amulet beings to glow....
In her eyes the PC's see a beginning ascencion to godhood. She becomes amazingly strong in few seconds and escapes through the Cistern's water mirror.

The truth:

The Cistern is the portal to Dusjoon. Takhisis' amulet, the only remaining piece of her divine power has lured evil here through the underground and they have taen lair in Dusjoon. The dragon who (possible) dominated a PC's was a old red dragon named Pheriliox who masked himself so the PC would get confused.

status.

takhisis has escaped too Dusjoon with a small bunch of dragon, from here she is trying to rebuild her power, a few clerics return to her cause quickly, and the five headed dragon begins too appear in the sky. the clerics calls themselves the cult of the high serpent, and they are reqruiting in the slums of big cities, this quickly becomes a well known fact.

Next. step.

the PCs have to try to undo "re-"ascencion of takhisis. But they are too weak to make a frontal assult on Dusjoon. She thety most balance things out first, by finding Valthonis and making "re-"ascend also.
where to find Valthonis?

1. The liberary of Palanthas?
2. The island of the Irda?
3. The qualanesti forest?
4. the forest of southern ergoth?
5. the citidal of light?

astinus in the great liberary definetly knows something, as do the high priestess of mishakal.

Valthonis must ascend in godshome, which again requires a dangerous journey. Valthonis will also need some sort of dvine power in order to ascend. With his knowlegde and the help of a white robed mage he could channel the energy from a magical item that he created or blessed into himself and thereby regain a little of his divine power.
This means that the PC's will have to find a true dragonlance (blessed by paladine) or something else.

List of things that don't work:
disks of mishakal
Time journying device
dragonorb
old holy symbol of pladine (too weak; and "too" commen) (DM's decission really).

After all these quests are completed, the PC's can now focus on how they are going to destroy the dark queen.
Options:
1. Maybe they will get help from un unexepted source ie. Sargonnas.
2. Dusjoon being a pocket plane, can be destroyed by a majority of the gods, which will leave takhisis on the prime material plane. Still a god, but more vulnerable.
3. Trick her into coming out of Dusjoon, by faking (now)palaine (re-)descend to Valthonis. Takhisis would defintly come out in order to try to slay the Valthonis she thinks is mortal.

the ending:

the campaign should end with the final destruction of Takhisis and the re-descendence of Paladine to Valthonis.
Wheter a large epic battle or a hard fight between few people/gods, the ending should signefy(sp?) the FINAL destruction of Takhisis. (atleast that is what I think)

Depending on how long after the WoS you set the campaign, perhaps Tahkisis managed to place her essence into that of a baby and has grown almost to adulthood. That way you could launch her as a major Nemesis without the party really knowing who she truly was. In a sense a 'mortal' take on her 'One God' campaign.

Another thread mentioned the brilliant idea that says Valthonis and Tahkisis became mortal but in the novel it didn't state if they were mortal dragons or humanoids.

Too much like Bane, although his "son" was a demon, I would say.
I think that it would be too much like repating the war of souls, with mina and all.

Now this idea I like. That way both Valthonis and Takhisis would retain a lot of power also when they are in humaniod forms. This could really confuse the PCs. Especially if Takhisis ascendence were halted a while, so that they faced her a couple of times before that.
