Question.

I have a friend that wants to run a Dark Sun campaign, but he was slightly confused with the PDF provided. He wanted to know if the game is set in the Green Age? If not, what time is the game set in?

There's a 32 page booklet called Beyond the Prism Pentad that as on two pages a chronology of the events taking place in the Prism Pentad (PP) novels and the published adventures. Since nearly everyone considers the flavor of these novels as canon, and since TSR obviously did, the game is set somewhere after the end of The Cerulean Storm (PP5), the last PP novel, which is set in Free Year 10 (FR10), that is 10 years after the fall of Kalak in The Verdant Passage (PP1).

All of the events that take place in the books and novels are set in or after the Age of the Sorcerer-Kings. The PP novels are part of what The Wanderer's Chronicle (from the Dark Sun setting box) calls the Decade of Heroism, the ten years following the end of the Age of the Sorcerer-Kings. All those events are set millennias after the Green-Age, Time of Magic and the end of the Cleansing Wars.

If the Overcouncil and the Senate (the two governing bodies at Athas.org) have stated otherwise, I'm unaware. :D
