I'm just curious as to what monsters from conventional D&D you DMs out there aren't allowing into your Dragonlance campaigns.

Anything that I know for a fact is in Forgotten Realms.

Yikes, there is more than enough mosters listed in various dl sources: Bestiary, MC4, 5th age boxed set, TotL

The only conventional MM creatures I don't use are halflings, lycanthropes, orcs (and half-orcs) and Drow. Other than that, they all exist.

So you don't use elves, dwarves, humans, ogres, dwarves, minotaurs...? :D

Yeah, I thought bout that. I should have said the ones in the Monster of Fearun book.

BTW, does anyone have 3.5 ed stats for a Dracolich.

Bah, I really like the Forgotten Realms Creature Book there are some very interesting things in there. I'm probably going to use them. Especially many of the Planetouched races. I just really REALLY like Genasi.

I also was very much impressed by Races of Fareun and Magic of Faerun books. Both were filled with information that wa snot just mechanical, it was informative and interesting. Magic of Faerun was chocked full of more awesome then I can fit on a stick, and Races of Faerun had some awesome artwork (Planetouched section and a few other sections; there was some goddawful artwork too) and good racial histories and cultural info.

Sigh, to bad these things are all made for that horribley lackluster setting the "Forgotten Realms". I dunno why but that game just BUGS me. Especially when I'm in the FR forums checking out what Spells and Magic means to them (I like my spells!). All they ever do is argue about Spellfire, Non-Weave Magic, and Canon. If anyone steps one foot out of canon then they're gonna have a heap o' trouble to deal with! In fact they'll be shot out of a cannon. Sigh, its a world where magic has lost its luster. Every Joe-Schmo with a cow can magic missile that cow in the butt to make it dance, bah and ptooie!

In response to the first post, I'm gonna use any monster I feel doesn't bother the setting to mch. As long as there isn't an entire country of Genasi I think I could toss one or two into the mix.

I've found it works just as good giving the basic Lich template to a Dragon. Who needs a Dracolich template?

I like this idea, never really thought about it that way.
