Is it just me or are some locations a little 'off' target?

I was looking through the geography section in the DLCS and found that a few of the locations seem to have 'shifted' a little from their traditional resting places from 4th to 5th age. Is this due to the 'Chaos' Cataclysm or just the Artistic interpretation of the cartographer?

Both the High Clerist's Tower and the Location of Qualinost seem to have drifted east...

Also can anyone tell me how the Forest near Tarsis came about, I presume it had something to do with the Dragon Overlords (probably Beryllinthrannox).

Arandur, you are correct about the forest near Tarsis. Beryllinthrannox is responsible for that. I know what you mean alot of places seem off... I think even Wayreth Forest is off, I remember it being more to the north of Qualinesti.

Tal, I believe I recall hearing you mention Claren Elian(?) a few times on the board before (I think your party is from there). Was wondering what you can tell me about the location or where the information about it is?

claran elian is an island off of the coast of goodlund there. Its home to a culture of monks and assassins, and lots of other cool flavor. Mainly, it was described in Oddesy of Gilthanas, the novel/game product fusion. really cool stuff.

Was that SAGA based or 2nd Edition (not that it matters, I personally liked SAGA)? Just makes it easier to find at gaming stores...

it's a novel. the rules presented within are both D&D and SAGA.

half the book is a story of gilthanas going all over ansalon looking for silvara, the other half is game material about those places.

Wayreth forest (and its tower build site) has always been shown to the southwest of Qualinesti lands. It was shown there in all the SAGA products, in the Dragonlance Adventures hardcover, in the Tales of the Lance boxed set, in the Atlas of the Dragonlance World, etc.

As for the location of Qualinost. What Qualinost? All I see is a giant lake of death ...

Qualinost is the big Lake of Death.....otherwise known as Nalis Aren. Qualinost would be under it, more specifically.

Yes, I know. I was merely trying to inject some sarcasm. Obviously I succeeded.
