This is really an appeal au grodog to outline for our benefit which third-party d20 modules -- especially Necromancer Games ones -- he thinks particularly fit the sensibility (and geography, secondarily) of the World of Greyhawk. Anyone else, of course, comment too...

Hi Faraer---

Actually, I owe the Greytalk list just such a project, since we had a pretty extensive discussion about it earlier in the summer, and I said that I'd collect all of the feedback and summarize it. Thanks for the reminder, since I'd actually quite forgotten about that....

I'll be adding additional details to Canonfire! or my web site; however, as a quick answer to your query, here are my favorite "Necrohawk" modules, ranked in order of their Greyhawk worthiness; all are published by Necromancer Games.

  • Maze of Zayene series
  • Tomb of Abysthor
  • Vault of Larin Karr
  • Necropolis
  • Demons & Devils
  • Crucible of Freya

I've found the above modules to be adaptable enough to fit GH in just about any location (Necropolis being an obvious exception). While Rappan Athuk is NG's signature adventure series, I dont find that it fits my personal vision for GH as well as the above modules do; that said, though, it just occured to me that it might go nicely on the Isle of Lost Souls....

Yeah, I'm a big fan of Necromancer too. Good stuff.

Also 'The Hamlet of Thumble' (not Homlett) had a Greyhawk feel to me whan I played it. Lots of halflings, but not Kender ones.

Thanks. Maze of Zayene and Necropolis are certain (and Khemit is as good a name as any for the Egyptian region of Oerth -- Gary has suggested adding 'an Egyptian-Indian-Persian-Burmese-Chinese land mass' -- though we know from Sea of Death there are Indian-type states on Oerik...).

I'll get Tomb of Abysthor and go from there.

Did you also notice that Heward seems a clear Greyhawk substitute for McGreggtim, the hero-bard demigod McGuffin in Hall of Many Panes?

Cool, you won't be disappointed with that one. It rocks :D

I haven't actually read much info on the HoMP beyond some of EGG's comments here and there. Is there any info available on it online?
