Would there actually be a head of the good and evil deities now?

I mean with the two most powerful ones gone Im thinking that perhaps the good/evil gods would perhaps just go on with their own plans kind of as they did before but now without the two main gods forcing their hands?

I would very much like to see it happen so that those gods who so far have been left to the background would become more visible (especially Morgion, Chemosh and Zeboim). Paladine and Takhisis have been too dominant, they kept stealing the whole show.

I would imagine that Mishakal would become head of the good deities, and Sargonnas would be come head of the evil ones.

I agree with the stealing the show statement.

My friend who LOVES DL hated the fact that almost everything that meant anything that had occured because of either Paldine or The ##### Queen.

I liked hmm, was it Chemosh or Morgion that saved Rennard? Anyway I found it cool even when I read those books way back then that another god of evil was affecting things.

Also with the Minotaurs on the main continent now Im sure Sargas will make his impact felt.

I had thought that perhaps Kiri-Jolith would become the main god of good while his mother whispered into his ear. I see Mishakal as such a peace loving woman I find it hard to see her prompting the other gods of good or neutrality for that matter into action.

The DLCS. If you read the write ups on the Gods then you will notice that Miskal is the only greater deity for good and that Sargonnas is the only greater deity for evil.

And if you have read war of the souls then you should have been able to figure it out as well.

i noticed that as well, but i'll remind you that sargas and mishakal were greater dieties before as well. Until something comes out saying otherwise, i have a hard time believing that the other gods of evil are just gonna let sargas go =)

I didn't realize that they were the only greater gods but then I again I only get my DLCS latter this week, hehe.

I can see Sargas ruling the evil gods. After all he has alot more honor than they are use to having in a leader so it would be easy for them to defer to him while they do the thing that they do.

I guess Mishakal may lead the other gods as well I just, personnaly don't see it in her charachter. I would think that Kiri-Jolith is the other side of Sargas as both being warrior gods of Honor but certainly with a differant spin on things but then again I may be way off.

Am I missing something about Mishakal that would show her as a leader or is it just cause she is a greater god? I wouldn't think the gods of good would be pushed around like an evil deity would just cause the other god is more powerful. After all Kiri-Jolith is also her son after all (I think).

In the end of the war of the sould Sargonnas pretty much takes over for evil. And If I remember correctly it pretty much says the same thing for Miskal.

see, mishakael doesnt strike me as the leader type. if sargonnas really does take over evil, i would think that kiri jolith would stand up to balance him.
Oh, and quoting from p. 182 of AoM- "One of the Gods of Light must yet be chosen to lead the family, while the Gods of Darkness are even now engaged in a struggle with one another to determine which will attain dominion over the others."

Matthew Martin and I were talking about this balance yesterday. He had the idea (and i agree with him) that there is a dichotomy between good and evil gods.

Paladine -- Takhisis (this is obvious)
Kiri Jolith -- Sargonnas (again, pretty straight forward)
Mishakal -- Morgion (healing vs disease)
Majere -- Chemosh (set up in DLCS, solid good v. evil)
Habakkuk -- Zeboim (conflict since DL5)
Branchala -- Hiddukel (the battle of glib tounges)
Solinari -- Nuitari (white vs black)

Talin I agree with what you wrote up and I think from a game perspcetive we (my group) will use The Bison (Kiri- Jolith) vs. the Bull (Sargas).

It was Morgion, and he didn't save Rennard he corrupted Rennard.

Morgion gave Rennard a disease that would kill him. Then told Rennard if you worship me I'll keep the disease from killing you. So Rennard turned his back on the light to darkness.

Yup, it was still cool though huh, hehe.

Of coarse depending on what side of the coin you are on. Im sure Morgion said "I'll save you my son while the other gods. The weak gods of your order will do nothing for you, blah blah blah...".

I think that Sarg(onn)as would be an obvious candidate to replace Takhisis as head of the evil pantheon. First of all he was her consort...second he´s the most agressive of the evil gods.

As for the good gods...Mishakal might become the new leader...her son Kiri-Jolith is another option. As is the case with the evil gods (except for Sargas) the remaining gods of light are too...well narrowminded...

The drink of water short story with him (setting him on the path to redemption, but just a little) was always one of my favorites.

The Drink of water short story? Is it based on Sargas? Where is that from?

I think that the gods of evil are still fighting for control of the pantheon. Sargonnas and Chemosh asre in the forefront I think. I also think that Mishakel or her son Kiri-Jolith will take over the good gods.
