Every culture has its creation myths.

How do the people of the Flanaess believe that their world came into being? What's the actual truth of the matter?

This is a good question, and one I think you'll find wanting of an answer. Early Living Greyhawk Journals made inidications about each of the races and their creation myths as a race. But it seems like nothing has been said about the creation of the Oerth, at least in the above noted journal.

I would like to see if anyone has any answer or any leads on an answer to this question. Maybe a search of Greytalk might yiled something. Anyone...?

In second edition the "Complete Books of" series had a theory in each race book on how each race thought the world was created.
Check those out, I can't remember if they were based in a set world or if they were generic beliefs per the race.

In The Apocalypse Stone, Oerth (or wherever one chooses to set the adventure) grew from a seed despite whatever creation stories each culture has. IMC, the Suel and other peoples actually came from other worlds to begin with; Lendor built the Null, for instance, and brought the Suloise version of Adam & Eve to Oerth. I've thought that all races, animals, monsters etc were created by the gods on some ancient world and that they spread throughout the multiverse over vast eons of time. That would account for the fact that each race and so forth is found everywhere without having to have a special creation for each world...

Maldin's Grand Unified Theory:Life, the Multiverse & Everything springs to mind.

There are also some other Origin Myths around on the web, but none as detailed. Here's one:
http://hem.passagen.se/warlich/Greyhawk/World/orgin_of_the_gods.html

Ther are two on this site: http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/5878/wogtexts.html

There's a 5 part series available on this site: http://www.rpgoracle.com/index.php (search function is at the top right , search for creation myth)

Grodog has a demonic Creation myth: http://www.greyhawkonline.com/grodog/gh_abyss_creation.html

ManofTheCranes' website used to have one here: http://www.manofthecranes.com/AgeofMyth.htm but it's lost. (Does anyone have it saved?)

Of course everyone tells it differently.

The Scarlet Brotherhood had a Touv creation myth. I cannot recall if it had one for the Olman.
