Mr. Coyle I have to thank you so very much for getting some good art in the Age of Mortals book (finally got my books from Amazon.ca today )! The (mostly) good art in that book almost makes up for the tremendous pile of (IMO) horrible art from the DLCS. I especially like the art on pages 28, 35 , 41 and 49. I hope that the overall quality of the art will continue to improve with the next release.

I just have one concern...my book feels like the pages are about to fall out. Was every book made like that or do I have one with a bad binding?

*laughs!* Wow, you managed to pick out almost every piece of Jason Engle artwork....who, I might add, like Jennifer Meyer, has so far graciously continued to providing us with art for our products :D

Weird... my bindings on my book are pretty solid... they do feel slightly different, however, because... get this... they were handstitched! in China...o.O; Hard-working Chinese workers spent countless hours stitching each and every one of those books by hand...can you imagine?!?!

...which is something most North American book binders (at least large scale) don't do.

I would like to thank sov. stone for the high quality of the cover artwork. It took me awhile, but I think it is Mina honouring the dead Tahkisis. Am I right?

That's just an "optical illusion." (I put that in quotes cause that isn't the right word).

Stiched books always seem like they're about to fall apart...but it's a false feeling, they're actually quite sturdy (and better than glued bindings, in my opinion). You'll notice that you can open the book all the way to the spine? If you did that with a glued spine, it would crack and come apart...but not a stiched binding.

So...don't be fooled...although it seems loose and like it will come apart, I can (almost) guarantee it will outlast any glued binding you have.

(unless of course for some reason you actually got a book with a bad binding... ;))

Well, I'm sure that I'll find out once I read it. I don't have much time to read the books with school, but I'll try to finish them ASAP.

Jason Engle rocks! If he continues to produce pics like those for future books I'll have to sure that I don't drool on the pages.

I love how Engle does the lighting in his paintings. His pic on p.146 is super nice. I'm really looking forward to his work in the bestiary. Hopefully he'll draw a dragon or two.

Oh, and umm...what inspired you to hire the artist of the pics on pages 43 and 45? To say the least, the picture on p.45 is interesting...;)

Which ones are those? The Solamnic Auxiliary Mage and the Rogue Knight? :D

Actually...the Rogue Knight is kind of interesting...when you really look at it...it actually has a very 3D-like quality to it. Which is weird...and too bad, because most people are writing it off at first glance.

Is that the Solamnic Auxiliary Mage?

If so, I've nicknamed him Blinken uth Nodd. ;)

She's hot, is she not?

I think my favorite piece has to be either Silvanoshei or Hotak and Nephera.

My faves are Silvanoshei, the Academy Sorcerer, the Legionnaires, the Citadel Mystic, the spellfilch, and the war mage. Love the Slith pic.

I'm sure I may have missed a couple.

Come on peeps, p.45 (Solamnic Auxiliary Mage) has the best picture ever! ;)

I love all the Engle pics. There's just something about the way that he paints the lighting that makes his pics stand above the rest for me.

From the river of souls comes.... Necro Thread. Thought doomed by the gods, the necro thread long thrived on the very edge of the river of souls, untill it found its victim. It sensed a life force and latched onto carmine_dragon, draggind itself out of the river once more. Will Krynn survive the return on the necro thread?
