Half-Breeds

Back in 2.0, gully dwarves were dwarf-gnome crossbreeds. Then in SAGA, they were human-dwarf crossbreeds. Now they're back to dwarf-gnome crossbreeds. So, what happens when a human (using the current rules set) breeds with a dwarf? Do we get a mul (ala Dark Sun)? ;) Are they just infertile?

What racial traits would a Mountain dwarf/Dark dwarf half-breed possess? Tarn Bellowgranite is the most recent example of this inter-clan breeding and he's listed as a Mountain dwarf. Is it based on which culture/society brings him up? If so, what happens if you've got a half-mountain, half-dark dwarf that is raised by hill dwarves? Is this unfortunate going to possess hill dwarf racial stats?

Would a half-elf and half-kender mating produce any viable offspring?

I know I read a novel or short story somewhere about an elf-ogre crossbreed, but for the life of me, can't remember. Anyone out there know what I'm talking about?

I am of the opinion that only humans can cross breed with another race. Any other cross breeding and you get a mutated version of some kind. Like Tal said, and ogre and elf union created the goblins (then the graygem created the different kinds of goblins)

Dwarf and gnome unions made gully dwarves. There aren't really any other official references...but one could easily come up with some cross breed mutants.

But...I like to see the human blood as the great equalizer (it fits with Gilean as well). They can be anything, and they can "do" anything. Evil, good, somewhere in between...it doesn't matter. Minotaur, dwarf, elf...again...it doesn't mater. You'll end up with a half-minotaur, half-dwarf, and half-elf.

But like I said...that's just the way I see it. :D

Okay, but can a half-elf mate with a half-dwarf if the human sides are dominate?

Find out with the new D&DNA Kit (3.5th Edition... or is that 3rd.5 or... 3th.5rd...). Tired of playing with pure bloods? Tired of playing with first generation crossbreeds? Tired of waiting for your PCs to copulate with something interesting? With the new handy dandy kit you can mix and match abilities of races you know couldn't mate, nevermind breed, even if an epic version of 'Drunk' was cast on both of them. Want a dwarf and an elf in one? Go for it! Want a quarter-dwarf, quarter-kender, 3/8th minotaur, 1/8th dragon? No sweat! Want a 1/3rd elf, 3/8th kender, whatever the Abyss is left human? You're SICK! But it can still be done! Not only that, so long as some piece of a 'parent' is found, even if they are long dead, ANYONE can be called mama or papa. You want a child of Tanis and Kitiara? Just use a hair from Tanis' sword and whatever is on any of the 5000+ sheets Kit used. How about the son of the Kingpriest and Malys who can ravage the land? Just clean off the Crown of Power and Mina's Lance. The spawn of Alhana and Porthios who isn't a wimp? Can't help you! The great Wizard of High Sorcery who is actually from the genes of Goldmoon and Slith? Well, you can read about him in the Solace Tabloids already.

For 20 easy payments of $195.50 (US$) you can receive this non-existant kit well-no-you-won't along with a sample NPC sheets longer than the entire yet-to-be-completed Wheel of Time series. Please allow 750 years (out-of-game) after payment for delivery.

Non-Afflicted Kender Sorcerers Need Not Apply.
