I got the DLCS because I like reading the novels. I was hoping for a nice fold-out map and stats on some of the greatest heroes of DL (Tas, Raistlin, Tanis, Etc.). And stats were left out for Takhisis, because she was killed? Come on. This is a campaign world to be run by DMs. It should have included a lot more than what it did, that's for sure.

Stats for both Takhisis and Paladine are included in the section regarding play in other eras.

I believe that stats for the Heroes of the Lance will be provided in the War of the Lance book which I believe will be coming out next year.

Yeah, I know where you're comming from on this one.

I had only read about the war of the lance, the twins saga and then when the magic was lost I stopped reading in dissapointment; consequently I was a little taken aback to find that there were now evil nights (living in Palanthas) and big evil dragons and stolen worlds and one gods and then to cap it all off the "death" of Takhisis and the mortalisation of Palidine (Stink) I thought he was a great god figurehead (so to speak.)

...and almost narry a mention of the Heroes of the Lance!!

I've read the 1st ed DLCS from cover to cover (as thin as it was) and to be honest, I was a little dissapointed at the content of the 3.5 DLCS book.

Although the arial combat section is good.

I don't agree with this opinion. The world of Krynn has moved on. The DLCS had to concentrate on the Post WoS era because its the "present". The War of the Lance era is the past. It's been covered very well in the old 1st and 2nd ed books. And its going to be covered in a book next year.

I think it goes without saying that there will always be a group of DL fans dedicated to the WotL era/Chronicles/Legends. And that's okay. Just like it is okay that some other fans prefer the early 5th age, or like the modern era.

For those that do like the WotL era, you'll be happy to note that Sovereign Press is marking the 20th anniversary of Dragonlance next year with their War of the Lance supplement.
