I am surprised that this was not mentioned in the War of Souls trilogy. It almost seemed that at any given time Dalamar ripped his robes open to show his loyalty.

So I am wondering, do you still think it is there?

I really thought that the mark would come into play a little more with Palin in the War of Souls, but alas, nothing yet..

Added thought:

I think that it is still there. The earlier books make mention of how permanent it is and will be.

I think he mentioned it...cause I remember being surprised he didn't loose his temper as he usually does with it.

However, now that he's died and been brought back to life...will he still have the wounds? I hope so...Dalamar without his finger wounds would be like Raistlin without his hour glass eyes.

I wouldn't mind them not being there, since that story arch occured three quarters of a century ago.

I really think that they wouldn't be, since Palin's fingers got fixed, Raistlin's eyes, etc.

I think that sometimes Dalamar's wounds got to be a little annoying. All he did was rip off his robes in order to show them to anyody that mentioned Raistlin name/ However, they also serve to remind him and us of the treachery that he did agianst the Master of the Past and of hte Present. the True Master of hte Tower. They add to his character and they should reamin.

Now that he's dead, Raistlin's eyes are normal. However, Raistlin doesn't really have a body anymore. I'd imagine that Dalamar's body still has the sores - his body was still around so they probably just shunted him back into it.

He damn well better still have his treachery wounds...

Dalamar 'should' still have the wounds, if Raistlin had been in the same situation and had been brought back to life, he would still have the hour glass eyes and golden skin...

The story arch concerning Dalamar and his wounds has not concluded, Dalamars story is always unfolding, and his mark was made by the most powerful Wizard to ever walk the planet.

Seeing as the Gods of Magic restored Palin and Dalamar to life, I would assume they would respect the mark placed upon Dalamar by Raistlin, whereas Palin's fingers were not introduced by magical means, a battle of Wizards, etc. etc.

In conclusion, magic caused the mark, it'd be respected by the 3 Gods of Magic, and left to remind Dalamar that though he was given a second chance at life, his past continues to shadow him and will until the end of his days.

All he did was rip off his robes in order to show them to anyody that mentioned Raistlin name/

He just wanted an excuse to rip off his shirt for the ladies. "Check out my scrawny elf chest!"

Really though, the marks staying would be nice touch. Not as a loyalty thing, (as Dalamar has already proven that he will switch loyalty rather quickly given the opportunity) but as a reminder.

Maybe Nuitari will use them now in the way Raistlin did, to remind Dalamar of the price of betraying magic, and that he owes his power and very existence to divine intervention.

dalamar's wardrobe must cost tons, if he keeps ripping his robes like that...

course, the 'mend' cantrip must come in real handy for him..

You have five seconds to retract that remark or you'll be a pile of ash.

It's the old on-line community debate..."Are Dalamar and Raistlin lovers?"

It's a very old debate...I just thought it'd be funny to mention it again. heh heh

P.S. By the way...it's well past 3 minutes. What was the "or else" part of that threat anyway?

Sorry...the old debate is that Raistlin is actually a woman.

The newer debate assumes that Raistlin is indeed a man...but is lovers with Dalamar. heh heh

*Points finger at him*

You have now been polymorphed into Tobin Melroy/Arek Brimstone.

...wait a second, weren't you that to start with?

SON OF A DUCK!!!

BTW, wouldn't Raistlin being a woman and Dalamar and him being lovers make Dalamar straight?

Yeah, I saw that, but I still haven't located this "Dalamar and Raistlin are lovers" thread on either these boards or the DL.com boards.

Besides, I think we can safely assume that Dalamar is a bi-sexual, considering his relationship with Jenna. Of course this could just be so he could keep up face with the public. Then again, there was Kit, but he killed her.

BTW, Brim, do you think that the mark is still there?

By old...I mean really old. Like...well before the DLMB was created. I'm pretty sure it's even older than the DL-L and AFDL (which is where I first heard about it). There's a good website with the arguments for why Raistlin is a woman. Pretty funny.

There's another one that's a DL anime site...can't remember what it's called, but, it has a large section dedicated to proving that Dalamar and Raistlin are lovers. heh heh

Funny stuff.

Well...like I said above...I hope they're still there. They were present in Dragons of a Lost Star. But after dying and being brought back to life...who knows.

I'd like to think (as was stated by Freaklegion) that the gods of magic respect Raistlin decision to give those to Dalamar...and therefore return Dalamar to health, with the wounds still there.

Anyway...Dalamar received the wounds for his duplicity and betrayal of Raistlin...and I think he proved in Dragons of a Vanished Moon that the lesson Raistlin tried to teach him fell on deaf ears...for he is still full of duplicity and betrayal...and the gods know that.

(kinda like the Hourglass eyes were given to Raistlin to teach him compassion...talk about your all time back fires) heh heh

But didn't Dalamar get the marks for being more loyal to the Order than his shalafi? Of course, considering Dalamar is and always will be a back-stabbing SOB, I think them still being there would make sense.

Oh, I remember those threads now, I even helped resurrect it once or twice, and now apparently I have a third time
