I want to start a SpellJammer campaign, and was wondering how to start. I read that some of the people here go interested in SpellJammer because of the movie Treasure Planet, and, since my friends and I liked that movie, I figured that it might be interesting to start a SJ campaign. I know there's the one link listed as the official fan site, but are there other good resources out there?

http://www.shatteredfractine.com/ is a very good site to start with.

The shipyard area has some simple rules for running spelljammers, but beware that they are from before the Arms and Equipment guide came out. The official site's rules are closer to A&E guides and 3.5, but are more complex. It'll take some work on your part to sort out which rules that you prefer.

As you can probably tell from the posts on this board, there really isn't a pre-made campaign setting (like you have for Faerun, Greyhawk, or Krynn) out there for Spelljammer, it's more of a collection of ships and locations. That being said, I personally think that it's the most entertaining concept for D&D that they have had since the beginning of RPGs.

Have fun!

Gladius, you should check out Beyond the Moons, the official Spelljammer site. It has lots of great info on SJ.

Amongst all of that is an intro to SJ:

What is Spelljammer?

Hope that helps!
