I would like to share some more of our campaigns little creations, since we have a very outdoors oriented one, and as in the real world their are a vast number of horse breeds we decided to create a few "varient" warhorse breeds, just so PCs will have yet another thing to blow their hard adventured money on...

The Malachite, an ancient breed of horse from the dawn of the great kingdom, has ever been the mount of the knights of that mighty nation. Bred for ferocity, and loyalty, but the breed has endured a infusion of feindish blood through the ages, and its current temperment is a clear indicator, many stableboys have felt its crushing hooves and strangely sharp teeth, for merely misjudging the breed's moods. Nevertheless the Malachite is the mount of choice for any true Aerdy noble.

well there you have some of our varient horse breeds, I really hope to see some such ideas from some of the posters on this board, such as varient dog breeds and other fairly mundane animals.
I have always felt that animals are usually underdeveloped in most fantasy settings, the oportunity for variety is to great, to ignore, besides its fun to have a "hotrod" horse

Others that one may want to consider are the horses of the Rovers of the Barrens, as well as the Nomads, not to mention that if one has an arabian bent to their Baklunish lands that horses there would be highly sought after.

A couple more that may warrant their own horse-breading tradition is the Duchy of Urnst who have a long-standing reputation as fine horsemen and an elite cavalry known as the Bar Rampant. The other is the Duchy of Tenh who I believe also have some tradition of cavalry, although I can't remember and exact reference for them.

Another twist on this theme may be griffons. Aren't there supposed to be griffon riders in several nations across the Flanaess?

I like what you've done here! This makes horses from these nations in great demand. Looking forward to seeing more threads like this. If you got time you should put together an article about horse breeds of Oerth.

The submit it to canonfire.com. I'm sure many more people would appreciate your hardwork.
