ok, here's the party i got:

Bri Uth Kanaan, Human Squire of the Crown (clr 3 of kiri-jolith)
Desidus, human sorcerer (sor3)
Rhomus Oakenshield, dwarven scout and descendent of nobility (rog1/rng2)
Thrakath de-Kithan, minotaur wanderer and shaman, worshipper of the new god Kirigonnas (don't ask... insane character) (Ftr2/Mys1)
Striking Hawk, kagonesti elven wild protector (Rng2/Dru1)
Thistdupple Knoblock, wandering kender minstrel (Brd3)
Unnamed human Red Robe (Wiz3)

now, the knight, the minotaur, and the kender all are traveling buds already. And I think I'm going to have the dwarf and elf both be together, survivors of the Qualonesti thing. Now, my question is, how do i get everyone together?

The groups are all going after the same treeasure, they meet while atempting this, depending on thier reaction of each other, they either team up or begin to fight, just then big monster attacks and forces them to work as a group..

simple but effective

Bar fight, all get arrested and jailed. Get to know each other and hopefully agree to help each other.

All in same town, town gets attacked by dragon. All groups eventually bump into each other and hopefully agree to help each other.

Elf and dwarf are looking for "thieving" kender who has item of the dwarven royalty. Item is magic, red robe wants it to return it to order, sorcerer wants it because it gives sorcerers magical boost. Laugh on everyone is magic item has no magic and is mistaken for the real magic item that becomes the campaign reward.

On a ship from Sanction (or where ever is easier) and the ship sinks because of a phenomenon or Dragon. Players wash up in the New Swamp or where ever else your fiendish GM mind can take them...

They all wake up in a dungeon with strangers. There are two ways out, forward through the dungeon or out through the door. Something snarls from the darken dungeon and the strangers bulk for the door.

Now, describe in grisly detail the exploding heads of the strangers as they escape your dungeon.

This is also a good way to strong-arm any player into basically moving forward in any situation.

I’m going to sleep now.

You could send the current characters on a mission to Qualinost, and while there, run into the dwarf and elf. The mission could be one to spy on mercenary movements for another group (knights, towns, merchants, rival mercenaries, etc) They could go in looking for loot left behind by the Qualinesti after they left (leading to interesting party conflict once they meet the elf and dwarf). Maybe they get robbed, and the adventurers chase the thieves into the woods and eventually meet up with the new characters, etc. This also works extremely well for ramping up or down the challenge ratings of encounters. Qualinost is teeming with goblins and hobgoblins as well as other humanoids, so the party could easily run into anyone, and offer challenges to characters of all different exp levels.
Perhaps the dwarf and elf are there scouting for survivors of the Qualinost disaster, or are using some commando tactics and trying to fight off the encroaching mercenary army.
Just some suggestions. Good luck!
