Well played my first Dragonlance game a couple of weeks ago and figured since I had so much fun I'd write it up for the board.
The characters were (off the top of my head)
Baldric Mordanus (F3 - gonna be Crown Knight) my character
Elf Noble3 (didnt get his history)
Aeon Flux (Rog1/S2) (yeah rip off name but ah well)
1/2 e Rog3 (barber who fought with 2 maces, a unique choice)
Minotaur (Barb3)
F3 human (just a wandering sellsword)
R1/tinker? gnome (had a dog with his tools on it)
R?/F? gully dwarf (omg what a hoot of a player, simply funny...)
Monk3 human (didnt do much the whole adventure)
dwarf barb3 (played by a 10 yr old, more on that later)

It was a packed room and very loud, but we all had a great time.
Now my DL knowledge is pretty limited so be wary... I think we were playing just before the War of the Lance.

We started travelling seperate to the Inn of the Last Home. I was on a mission to request the aid of a retired Knight in the upcoming war. I met most of the players on the road and had an interesting talk about sword lengths with the Sellsword (Baldric likes big swords: monkey grip + bastard sword = cool) while the Elf and Minotaur exchanged verbal abuses because of their races.

When we got to the Inn I sat down with the Sellsword and Aeon Flux talking about combat and ordering a full meal after a long trip on the road, while the Minotaur and Elf sat on opposite sides of the room. There the Gully Dwarf meagerly crawled around the tables eating scraps of fallen food, and the gnome was speaking with the Elf noble on how his inventions will change the world...
Some guardsmen came into the tavern and harassed Aeon. As a gentleman I told the guardsman to leave the lady alone. He laughed (who I learned was controlled by the Seekers). He said that I wasnt welcomed here and pointed to my Habbakuk icon on my breastplate.

Elsewhere in the tavern some guardsmen stopped the Barber 1/2e saying he matched the description of a fugitive.

Back to my character the Sellsword stepped in the middle of myself and the guard. He said that Id leave soon after I get some food. But sadly the guardsmen took swipes at the Sellsword, seeing the chaos the Barber hit the guards with his maces. The tavern suddenly broke out in to a giant guard vs. outsider battle.
The guard didnt stand a chance against the power of 2 fighters, a minotaur, and a dwarf.... I think I fell 3, the sellsword 1, the minotaur 3, and the dwarf 2. Im glad I took cleave now...
Well we all found ourselves as fugitives now in a foreign city. I was about to help some of the wounded guardsmen, since I figured thats what an honorable knight would do, but sadly the 10 yr old who played the dwarf wanted to finish of the guard who I was helping. THe DM tried to persuade him not to, but we think he didnt understand and he rolled anyways to attack and killed him. I was flabberghasted, I did not know what to do! Baldric yelled at the dwarf, but I did not want to something bad to a 10 yr old....
Luckily (kinda) we heard the alarm bell and the guardsmen were running to the inn to stop the disturbance. The Inn owner quickily showed the elf to a secret escape door and the elf told us to come with him so we all did. Baldric was still upset at the dwarf so I slapped a subdual attack of opportunity on the dwarf as he ran to the escape. I feel kind of bad cause the kid did not know why I did it, a couple of minutes later after some Elf vs. Minotaur debate and gully dwarf madness (Id say more but it was so hillarious I forgot it/it would make U crazy) the kid left to play Kingdom Hearts in his brothers (gully dwarf) room. I felt bad, but didnt know what to do.

We ran to the woods, where the guard caught up with us, so the Mintaur, Aeon Flux, and I decided to slow em down. Aeon decided to use her Flaming Hands which made them flee, but also started the dry brush on fire and quickly turned into a fire. So we ran alot faster.
Where we came to a river where for whatever reason the tinker gnome began construction of a boat, but we just looked at him... (it would take a while), so most of the players jumped in. Sadly everyone failed their swim rolls and were lost to the strong current.
I knew this was my chance to be a hero and forcefully ripped of the top of my plate mail, (which the elf kindly picked up for me)and jumped in to save the poor souls. I was able to save the halfelf and took off my greaves and footwear (which the barber took), so I didn't have a swim penalty to save the monk. While the 1/2 elf marched back up the river to sneak back to his barber shop.
After catching up with the drowning monk, we find the gully dwarf and gnome riding a log down the river, and the elf + minotaur walked down on the otherside of the river. I went back to save Aeon but I failed my swim roll, and became a victim myself. Luckily the minotaur saved us both and we started a fire. THe elf gave back my upper half of my plate (since i felt naked without my armor) and we started to debate what to do next. THe Minotaur and I went to get some water for our canteens, but saw a boat come ashore (I fell to my chest but the brave/stupid minotaur kept standing) To our amazement 3 robed figures got off. The minotaur barked at the robed figures, they spoke in a sissing tongue and revealed their Draconnian heads. I immeaditly stand up (no pants and all quite a sight to some draconnians I bet), the elf, gnome, dwarf, and Aeon came to the shore.
The draconnian chanted to us and we all had to make saves vs. Sleep... sadly we all failed em except the gully dwarf and Aeon.
The next thing we know we are taken prisoner and in the middle of a Draconnian army... and thats the end of the adventure!

Hopefully we can get out and I can get some pants.
I cant wait to getto 6th lvl so I can be a Crown Knight and wield a larger bastard sword... Any one know anything about the Mordanus family? Its one of the important royal families in Solamnia, I'd like ot flesh out my background a bit more.

And what would any of U done on the 10 yr?

Fun adventure, Im impressed with the Dragonlance background, Ive been a Dark Sun player for a decade now.

I think it sounds like a great adventure! It really makes me think of the "good old days", heh, where the party seemingly continued through one screw up after another (Kill a gaurd, begin a forest fire, nearly drown everyone in the party, entire party falls under the effects of a spell...) and they still manage to save the day when all is said and done. Heh Now THAT is _my_ kind of adventure. Just plain fun.

I really don't think there is too much you could have done about the 10 year old. It's a game and he'll get over it. If it makes you feel better you might explain yourself, but I would probably just leave it alone.

As Far as Mordanus goes, I don't know too much about them. Sorry.

Being a DM myself. I've been in those situations where you have a youth playing a character in the party that has a little trouble understanding moral issues. If he/she is anything like some of the kids I've had play in some of my campaigns they come back if they see that you are having a lot of fun. They're not stupid it was just a learning experience for them. Believe it or not some of my players have had a lot of fun with some of the youths that have gamed with me for a while because they know I won't back down.

On a happier note, it sounds like you are definitely having one of those glorious introductions to Dragonlance. Remember that you will only have a better experience if you push the limits of your imagination.

Sounds like quite an adventure! Fits great into the classic "every thing starts off on the wrong foot" tradition. My first adventure is heading in the same direction so your not alone on this.

I hear ya. Our party consists of a Half-ogre barbarian and a Minotaur Fighter (striving for Knighthood) and they are constantly abusing eachother more or less verbally. Meanwhile the female kender ranger/rogue attracts possibly every hostile creature in a 100 mile radius and the monk is forcing the minotaur to drag his cart after the minotaur got his horse killed.

We are running at 10+ sessions allready and they've singlehandedly ensured the failure of every single quest they have ever been given, plus a few quests given to others.

But at the end of the day we all have fun, so that makes it all worth while.

Hooray for odd parties.

Since I'm the DM of this game I thought I would go over what has been happening since then.

So the characters were captured by the red dragon army on it's march south towards the south and Qualinsti. The characters were taken to be questioned (not so much questioned as tortured). While Baldric wouldn't give in and he lost his hand. The sellsword told them everything he knew while the monk kept passing out from torture and avoided the worst of it. Baldric also got to use the Solamniac oath. The gully dwarf was ignored to wander off by himself since it was deemed he didn't know anything. (some guys lucked out since they weren't able to make it so they didn't suffer any bad effects) The next day they woke up to find themselves locked in a jail wagon. The gully dwarf hunted rats. Eventually they were given into the care of a high ranking Hobgolin who is taking them south to the Green Dragon army (I don't know where that army really is so I just made it up). While they travel south back past Solace and arrive just in time to see the Red Dragons fly over them toward it. The sellsword decides to wet himself from dragonfear. (Don't know why he just wanted to).

The characters then went south along the broder of Qualinsiti in a group led by the Hobgoblin who was named Skrag. Skrag has a right hand man named Baloth who was a half ogre. Big strong and dumb who also almost beat the gully dwarf to death when it tried to take his club for a bashing tool. Skrag on the other hand has been nothing but a charming host. He even spared with the prisoners one morning where Baldric actually bested him to my suprise. (Even one handed). The minotaur beat Baloth to. The next day the group was traveling through the woods when a large group of bandits were detected. Skrag gave the party their weapons since they were outnumbered and he needed all the avaliable swords. The bandits were bested and the party refused to surreneder their weapons. We ended with them facing down Skrag and his troops.

My Baldric took that torture like a true Solmanic knight
I like the part when they were trying to intimidate me w/
a hot iron, they burned both my cheeks and then said
If I didnt talk then we'll shove this down your throat.
So I opened my mouth knowing my honor is my life.
Too bad the DM realized if they did that I WOULDN'T be able to talk at all!

I just wish I had a good party to back me up:
A gully dwarf is funny, but terrible never helps
An Elf Noble is interesting, but still has no good abilities
A monk that cant hit is utterly worthless
and a rogue that hides and doesnt do anything is silly

I just need to get the sellsword, minotaur, and sorceror to play.
Then we might be able to take on that dang Scrag and his 1/2 Ogre.

Just one more adventure and I'll be 4th level
cant wait for monkey grip Bastard Sword... hehehe

So on we continue:

So they are in a standoff between Skrag and the Red Dragon Army. The Minotaur lays down his weapons. The others refuse Skrag loses his temper and orders them to be captured. Yet at the last minute he lets them go. So the minotaur (Man-taur I think) and Sellsword (Blake) stay. The others head off into the forest of Qualinsiti toward the capital which I can't spell without looking it up. This group consisted of the elf noble, Baldric, the gnome, Claude the wise (gully dwarf), and the monk. These guys traveled for a while before coming to a small elf village but it was full of humans. Squatters to be exact. The squatters had captured a female silvenoshi and were holding her in the basement of a house Claude the Wise found her and almost brunt down the house trying to cook up rats. So they left the village in the confusion and headed towards the capital.

Now the other two were told to rest by Skrag and after about 4 hours he headed into the forest after the other group with his troops. They came on the village and he connected them to the bandits that attacked them. He ordered the village burned as retribution.

Meanwhile the other group reached the capital and headed for the elf noble's house. While they found the whole city evacuated.(Probably don't want to read this if you are in my game in case Scott didn't tell you) While enroute the noble heard some flute playing coming from a temple of the Blue Pheonix. He entered to find a satyr playing a flute. The Satyr informed him the gods were returning to Kyrnn and needed people to bring the people back. So he was offered a chance to be one of those chosen. (Okay you can continue reading). While they reached his house and took the time to eat and have baths. They even caught the Claude the Wise and gave him a bath. Then they all went to sleep.

While it was dark when the bad un's reached the city and Skrag went straight to the noble's house. (He seemed to know the city). A group of them entered the house and captured the others. Baldric wrestled his sword away from a solider and on the top floor the Silvenoshi killed a soldier with a well placed arrow. So Baldric, the monk and the elf noble ended up fighting the half-ogre Baloth. Claude the wise hid under a pot. Baloth sundered Baldrics sword and knocked them unconcies. Skrag had gone up the stairs to catch the elf rogue. Another soldier was fighting here in a room and almost hit when Skrag took off his hand. He then disarmed the elf with his whip and she surrendered. Pretty soon they were all rounded up again and brought to the south.

Where did we leave off:

After being brought to the Plains of Dust they might up with a sizable force from the Green Dragon Army. (I don't really have any idea where they would be so I just made it up). Skrag leads them to Lord Blackthorne who heads up this army. They notice a holy symbol of Takahisis on Lord Blackthorne. Then they are offered as a gift by Skrag. Lord Blackthorne shows he doesn't care for the gift by slapping Skrag with his mailed hand and orders them in the dungeon. Skrag separates them into two groups Mantar the minotaur and Blake the sellsword go with Skrag. The others are taken down to the deep dungeon and left to rot.

In the third floor down the rest of the group spends a week or two down in the dungeon. Occasionaly they are feed but not always. One morning they week to find a fork laying in their cell. The silvenoshi elf uses it to jimmy the lock open and they head out. They find that they are the only people in the dungeon and that it is pitch black. They notice a little light flickering towards and away from them at one end. They ignore it and ask the gully dwarf if he can find the way out.

While this is happening Skrag has taken the other two down a hidden passege into a huge room filled with machines. They met a man in black robes who is repairing a gnome machine that mass-produces alchemist fire. He puts magical braclets on them and uses them for grunt labor. They work for a long time since the braclets torture them and are tuned to a whistle only the man knows. Until one day they wake up to that whistle. The braclets fall off and they are alone in the room.

In the dungeon they others have made it up one floor into with more cells. This area is somewhat light and their are old bodies in the cells. At the end they come to another locked door. On the other side are some soliders in a room hiding from their commanders and playing cards. The heros try to pick the lock and are noticed. So they break the door down and try to take on 15 guys with a bench. The monk kills one and the gully dwarf runs away.

The other group gathers up some tools to use as weapons and slowly work their way to the door. As they get close to it the door opens and the black robed man steps through with supper. Both groups are suprised and the man throws the hot supper at them. Mantar tries to knock it away but misses and gets a face full of stew. The man cast a spell that shrinks Mantar as Blake circles around. Blake tackles the man and Mantar kills him with a few headbutts.

Badly outnumbered and lacking weapons the monk soon falls. The elf noble and the Silvenoshi elf drag him out as Baldric stays to make their escape good back down the dungeon. Down there they follow the light that shows them a secret passage at the end of the dungeon. They enter just in front of pursuit. The army searches for them but doesn't find them. The soliders in the room are accused of making it up by their commanders since there is no records of prisoners on the third level. They point to the bodies as proof and are accused of fighting over cards. Some men are told to remove the bodies.

Traveling down the hidden tunnels the others find all their weapons neatly piled up. Along with two bottles of something sealed during the Age of Dreams. Hoping that it is some magical healing potion the elf noble heads up to save Baldric. He finds his body tossed down into the second floor by the men. He offers up a pray to Hababuk and pours the potion down the dying mans throat. Baldric is healed with even his hand growing back. They quickly head down to the hidden passageway.

Once there they give the other potion to the monk to find out that they only contain vinager. The gnome takes the time to heal them as they stay hidden for the next two days.

While this is happening Claude the Wise goes and lives with some other gully dwarves he finds.

Then they head out following the glowing light as it leads them up to worked stone passages. Still the whole area is hidden and pitch black other then the light. Eventually they find a door and, their gully dwarf finds them, that leads out of the passage. They enter the room of Lord Blackthorne as he is praying for his spells. He calls forth his mace only to have it snachted away by the gully dwarf who saw it as a great bashing tool. Next he calls on the power of Takahisis but without his armor he is quickly killed. He is left bleeding on the alter with Baldric's sword through his chest. They destroy his holy symbol and the mace and leave through the secret passage as the guards break down the door.

While this happens our other group of heros tries to escape but are blocked by soliders the Minotaur goes crazy on them but is quickly attacked by man with spears. They are forced to head for the secret passages themselves.

Actually, you're not far off on the assumption that the Green army is in the Plains of Dust. According to my last research, it's sorta located in the Southeast section of Ansalon, around that portion of the Plains. In fact, I've been using the Green army in my game...

Which brings me to a proposition. I've always liked the idea of running games in conjunction with another person (or people). Part of that whole 'shared setting' thing. Since we're both running a War of the Lance game, both dealing with the Green Army (though in differing ways and in differing parts), what would you say to acknowledging each other's existence in-game? Nothing serious or too focused, maybe just overhearing a Green commander talking about trouble somewhere else (a clear reference to the other party). I don't know, it just seems like a generally cool idea, and we could coordinate some plots if you like. It's an interesting idea.

Let me know if you're at all interested in pursuing this idea. If not, that's cool - Nothing ventured, nothing gained ;) Just thought I'd throw this out there.

And if anyone else sees the promise in such an arrangement, you're all welcome to chime in, too.

Actually that is a pretty sweet idea but right now I've moved them away from that area since they have escaped. I'm not really up to date on the postings.

Okay now time for a complete catchup.

Now we start a bit of a dungeon crawl. Both parties meet up in the cave after following the dancing lights. The lights combine and after exchanging information they decide to follow the light down another passage.

After a while they enter a cave filled with bats and guano four feet high. The gully dwarf jumped on the minotaur's back and a brief struggle occured with the gully dwarf winning. (Deathgrip and won't let go). So the rest march through the cave when the Sivenoshi elf spots a stalk protording from the guano. She points it out to the minotaur as it disappears. In the darkness the humans can only see about ten feet thanks to the little light. So Mantaur starts moving really fast towards the door and draws his swords (duels weilds bastard swords). He sees something moving under the guano. Suddenly huge tentcles rip out of the guano as something attacks them. Claude the Wise shouts it's a guano karken. Mantaur charges it as the elves and the half-elves move to engage. The humans come it slower since they can't see.
After defeating it they head out of the cavern into more tunnels.

Eventually they can hear the sea so Blake the sellsword takes off blind towards the sound. He runs smack into a wall as the tunnel turns. Gets up and runs off towards the sound again and falls into 3 feet of icy cold water as he burst into the sunlight. The rest of the party goes out of the caves to. Eventually they head north toward Tarsis.

They enter Tarsis to find it controlled by the Red Dragon army. After talking to the locals they find that there is a price on their heads for killing Lord Blackthorne. They also find out with his death Skrag is now 2nd in command of the Green Dragon army. The Red Dragon Army is heading towards Solmina so they decide to try to get around them and head there also. They decide to get jobs to earn some cash to hire a boat from a costal city. So everybody gets jobs well the minotaur plots a course. Blake decides to pawn off his slave braclets. When the pawn store owner doesn't give him his asking price he beats him up and takes his money. Then he leaves the braclets. Baldric ends up slapping Blake and taking the money back. The gully dwarf finds Tarsis' "this place" and finds an uncut emerald. The half-elf finds a barber and gets a real good job. The monk sings on the street corner for loose change and does a real good job. When asked to preform for the rest of the party he sounds like a dying yak though. They try to sell the emerald to the pawn shop owner but he tries to rip him off. So they find a dwarf who pays them more then it is worth and comments on humans inability to make fine jewerly. They also find a breast plate for the minotuar to wear.

While they gather up enough money and avoid the people looking for them and head to the coast after purchasing a bunch of mules and a cart. The minotaur finds a ship crewed by his kind of people (minotaurs) and purchases passage. He doesn't tell them who will be riding though. And thats were we left off.

Alright now to get back on track. My memory will probably be a bit off on the events though since it has been a while.

Okay the elf noble refuses to get on the ship since he will have to be around "Cows". He calls in a favor with a local merchant and gets passage on a luxary ship that will be leaving latter. He convinces the others to go with him except the minotaur who leaves with the other minotaurs. He arrives in Palanthas but finds he cannot leave due to all the invading of the countryside and such. So he takes up some dock work for the time being.

While the others have to wait three days for their ship to leave. The silvonesi elf is caught stealing and is locked in a cell with some kender for a night (this was deemed punishment enough). The others keep themselves busy. On the ship they meet up with a young wizard who is working on the boat as a carpenter (except with magic). They leave on the slow big pleasure boat. Sailing through the Ice Mountain Bay the gully Dwarf keeps getting kicked out of the kitchen by the cheif.

Then one day the captain sees something coming off the glacier to the south towards them. It is flying. He puts up his looking glass and an alarm is sounded. A massive white Dragon is flying towards them. People come running up from the hold as they try to steer the ship towards land. The elf noble tries to talk to the dragon as it flys overhead while the wizard shouts "Don't look in it's eyes it will hypnotize you". The Dragon flies over as it has business else where.

While the gully dwarf went and hide in the pickle barrel while this happened and didn't leave it for the rest of the trip. Everyone got Gully fever from dirty pickles and the rest of the trip was miserable.

After they arrived and met up with Man-tur the Minotaur Baldric succeeded in getting everyone put in the army. He also meet up with Lord Gunther who I called Lord Oswald as I am mildly stupid and like to mix up people.

They were put under the command of Lord Falstaff (I'm running out of good names.) who was leading an army to reenforce the Dwarves in the south. Baldric was put under the command of a Knight of the Crown named Lord Jordec. Lord Jordec was very respected and should of been leading the army but his son had just died and he was dealing with severe depression and an urge for vengence. While before they marched out they decided to go to party. So the elves and the wizard decided to go to a wine house while the others went to an ale house. Blake the sellsword went with the elves and caused a ruckus as he is stupid. Those at the ale house had their first taste of Dwarven spirits and ended up singing in the streets.

The next day they were divided up into regiments. The minotaur, elves, half elf barber and monk were stuck in a group of volunteers. It was lead by a female Kagnoseti named Prowling Cat. She also happened to be a dark elf. Her and the noble fought about who should lead the group while the minotaur was content to be able to fight.

Baldric was put with a bunch of other Knights of the Crown most of them with no experience in real battle yet. Blake was put in a unit of heavy calvery. The wizard was put with four other wizards in a cart.

They arrived in the southern mountains after a long march. The scouts spotted the enemy and a plan was reached. Jordec argued with Falstaff saying the plan was foolish. As he wanted to stay where they were and keep a high ground advantage but Falstaff wanted to march out. The volunteers were going to be used as bait for a lance charge. While the elf noble didn't like that but no one would listen to him. So they moved out. The Blake and Baldric were in a calvery charge and both meet the other groups calvery. The volunteer unit attacked a group of pikemen with the minotaur cleaving a path throw them and the monk and the barber following. The two elves hung back a bit. The noble noticed that light calvery was moving to flank them so he forced the unit a head into a forested area. A strange unnatural fog rolled in around them and they heard a strange roar up ahead.

While this was happening the wizards were left back in their cart up on the hill. While the one decided he was not going to be left out and he whipped the horses into action. The four wizards fell out of the back and he found he couldn't control the cart. Baldric and Blake eventually ended up by one another as they continued fighting. The gully dwarf was running around in the foggy woods looking for baldric.

Okay so the group wondering around in the foggy woods became seperated but the Elvish noble was able to pull them back toward him. Just in time to since the Dragon army had summoned an umber hulk (don't ask me how I just wanted to use one). The minotaur charged it and after a brief fight the group of irregulars were able to bring it down (12 blows from a group with long spears do a decent amount of damage especially when you role it all at once and get an 8 for 96 points of damage.)

The wizard rode the cart down the hill since he couldn't stop it and jumped out amongst the calvery as it went crashing through. He stood up to see a horseman riding towards him but Blake showed up and saved him. Then a group of knights went up in an fiery blast by him. He saw an evil wizard casting spells off in the distance. So our white robed wizard counterattacked. The evil wizard survived and started heading towards the other. He used a spell and knocked Blake off his horse and Blake had to fight the wizards guards from the ground. Finally they took the evil wizard down with the last few spells they head. Ray of frosted him to death.

Meanwhile Baldric noticed that lord Jordec was being harried by an evil cleric he rode to help him intercepting the cleric. They fought a battle with Baldric sword shattered by the cleric's warhammer. He fell to the ground and reached around as the cleric's hammer came down he pulled up a sword from a body and cleaved through the clerics hammer, helment, and head.

In the forest the group found themselves lost again, Claude the wise and Man-taur found themselves fighting soliders together. While the Barber and the Monk wandered around doing likewise. The noble ran into Prowling Cat who decided to switch allegience. They fought and the noble went down. Prowling Cat rode off as the Barber and monk found the noble they succeded in fixing him up.

Their 1st battle was over as the retreat was sounded for the enemy. (Of course they lucked out no dragons showed up). The elven rouge even captured an enemy commander.

Everybody made it back to camp. Where the wizard was given a gift for his bravery from the other wizards a wand of magic missles I think. Baldric found the family of the man who lost the sword and returned it. Lord Jordic told him he did a great thing though and gifted him with his family's sword as he had no children of his own. In the infrimary the noble was also given a gift a family heirloom of his own. His father sent down a sword that was weilded by his great grandfather. A scimitar craved out of a dragon tooth.

Now they prepare to move further into the mountains and face an even larger army.

Okay so I ran a one player adventure for the Wizard character. Since it was winter break and he was the only one around.

So the other four wizards with the army decided it was time for him to take his test. So he ended up getting to the tower in Waywarth. He spent a day meeting various wizards and learning the ways of the tower. He also got a whole bunch of Scrolls for free from a elven wizard who was trying to prefect a spell for summoning Griffens. He kept on summoning other animals with them so he gave him all the failures.

Well eventually he went to take his test. During it he was returned home to Ergoth just when his brother was elected Senator. His sister tried to kill his brother but in the test he was accused of the murder. Then things changed again and he was on the plane of fire. He fought some monsters then burned up to find him back at his place. There he witnessed his brother try to have his way with his sister against her will. His sister kills his brother with a dagger and runs off. He is flabergasted by this. Then he finds himself back in the tower he is told he failed the test. He leaves dejected only to find himself with the power to destroy the pitiful tower and everyone in it. He choses to die insted. And is droped on the fence around the tower. Then he truly exits the test. He finds himself facing the three heads of the orders and is told he passed.

So what order did he end up being in and what magic item did he get?

He chose white. I gave him a magic staff but for the life of me I can't remember what it does. Something to do with fire I know. I tend to make up stuff as I go.

Okay so we played again Thursday night. Lets see an assasin snuck into the camp seeking to kill Lord Falstaff. Baldric had guard duty. The elvish thief spotted the assasin and followed him for aways. Finally she shouted out to him "Name yourself" the assasin attacked. Baldric overheard the shout and went running off. The assasin used something to blind him and dissapered as the camp burst into action. A kender (the guy who was playing the monk switched characters) saw the assasin and chased after him. The gully dwarf tried to track him down but the lost him. So the gully dwarf went to sleep in a hole in the ground. Everyone else returned to camp.
The kender who was liked names kept stealing (burrowing) everyone elses name which really ticked off the wizard. Lord Falstaff ordered Baldric and the Wizard to watch him. Baldric told the gully dwarf to watch him and hit him if he tries to take anything. The gully dwarf confused this with hit anyone when they take anything. The kender got three new scrolls from the wizard. Also six tent stakes from the Elvish nobles tent when they took it down.

Eventually they all got moving again. (Baldric was also offically knighted). After a day or two they the scouts were having problems with traps and ambushes. A group was sent out to investigate this. They discovered kobold tracks. The gully dwarf and kender got bored and wandered off to be captured. The rest tried tracking the kobolds to their lair. They were thrown off by an illusion.

Meanwhile the kobolds told the gully dwarf and kender to take a message back to the humans to leave their valley. Then they let them go. The other members finally figured out the illusion and entered the cave. They talked to the Kobold leader and promised to talk to the army. The kobolds side they would aid them in the fight against the other army if everybody leaves there valley. So know they have to convince the Solmanics to accept the kobold aid.

Okay don't really feel like taking the time to write today but otherwise I will fall behind.

Okay so Baldric, and the female elf stay behind well the others go to talk to Lord Jordec. When they arrive the elf noble (Artemis) goes to talk to Lord Jordec. The kender and the gully dwarf (Clod the wise) bother the wizard. While trying to get them away he runs into the minotaur (Man-taur). All three plop on the ground and with Man-taur giving them a dirty look. Out of the kender's bags pops a map he didn't remeber getting. It did detail this area though. It should the way to an old building. The map itself probably predated the cataclysm. While the Kender decides to set off and investigate but he doesn't want to go alone. So he tells everyone of the treasure trove he found. While might be finding. After about a days march they find an old set of doors. An avalanch had buried the rest of the temple. On the doors were a huge skull done in copper. (Chemosh) None of them could figure out who the temple was to. (Age of Despair and all). So they decided to go in.

After a while of wandering they came to a room with four dead priest in it. The kender took one of the holy symbols (not smart). The others kind of milled about. Next they entered a large room to the left. In this room was a huge mural along the wall that showed people aging and dying. Then they would rise from the dead and head toward a golden glowing skull as undead. Walking around further into the room they discover that it is full of tombstones. The room is a graveyard. Then the door slams shut and a mist circulates in the room. Zombies rise from the ground and start to attack them. They fight them while retreating heading towards the door. The minotaur opens it and they shut it behind them and bar it. Well they decide to explore a little bit more being brave adventures. So they head into the room and find the alter. The gully dwarf looks around but there isn't really anything of intrest. Then the mist rolls in and a pale gentleman rises out of it. The vampire accuses them of defiling the temple and informs them that they will join its guardians. They attack it and the vampire puts up a very poor fight. In about 12 attacks he didn't hit any of them including the mage with an ac of 12.

They stake the vampire and check the remaining rooms then. Find some treasure and head home.

We played again but still mostly just hanging around pointlessly.

They had to do a favor for the Kobolds and get the corpse of the greatest kobold hero from the deep mines. Mostly just a pointless dungeon crawl to waste time. I did give them some gloves of dex but the kender and Blake the sell sword each took one.

I am the PC controling the Kender and I have a great story about the undead raising from the grave. At least now that the adventure is over and we are out of certain doom.

First, what really happened:
The zombies rose, the mage cast burning hands, we all ran.

The story as told by the Kender:
We were walking through the dark dreary room. I thought there are probably zombies and skeletons and all kinds of cool undead here. Unfortunately, undead don't carry on good conversations and usualy just try to kill you. Now as much as I want to know what it is like to die, there are a lot more things I want to experience first. The mage, minataur, and gully dwarf, knowing who will get them out of trouble if somthing happened, let me lead the way. I took out my Kender Spoon of Turning, given to me by by Uncle Trapspringer, and advanced into the room ready to protect my friends. Just as things were starting to get boring they started to rise. Zombies came out of the graves and started to advance. I bravely held my spoon out to the zombies comanding them to go back to bed and leave us alone. They wouldn't listen so I had to teach them a lesson. I stood my ground and concentrated very hard. Never harder in my life. Just before they reached us they all burst into flames from the awesome power passed down through my family for generations. My friends all ran away so I had to go with them to make sure they wouldn't get into any more trouble.

I love the story of Claude the Wise (gully dwarf), when I told him to watch the Kender and if he takes something hit him with his large Ratsmashing stick. SO the 2 had a staredown which the Kender lost out of boredom and forgot about the gully dwarf spy.
So the Kender went to "look" at a beautiful scroll case on Vanderoy the Wizard.
Luckily Claude the Wise saw the Kender and went to punish him with a good smash to the head. And proudly said, "NO TAKING!"
Vanderoy now aware of the Kender yelled at the Kender to give back the case, which of course he denies even taking and gives it back. Well Claude the Wise suddenly smashes Vanderoy on the head and yells "NO TAKING!"

I dont know how but a gully dwarf is a mixed blessing as a squire, so I cant wait till I actually get a real one.
Then maybe I might have my sword when I need it.
Claude sadly has a case of wandering off with my sword to go rat hunting.

Okay so now here we go again. Half of the group played and the other half will play this weekend or so. Now upon returning to camp they discovered that their army was getting ready to move. So Lord Jordec has his leave and goes to talk to Lord Falstaff. Everyone else went back to their parts of the camp. The elf noble went back to find that a new recuirt. A man calling himself Lucius von Pendragon III. He told him that he is a here to help him his army. Artemis tells him that he doesn't need any help. He tries to find out where Lucius is from only to be told that he is from Palanthas. Lucius says he worked for a governor there. Well Artemis ask around and finds out that no one knows about Lucius.

Meanwhile Baldric goes with Lord Jordec to Lord Falstaff's command tent. They are told that the army has found the Dwarven army and will move to reinforce them. Also they have recieved some reinforcments from the tower. A new wizard has joined. Baldric is volunteered to show her around. Which he does. They end up at the mess tent after he shows her around.

The kender likewise mights Lucius and they hit it off after a rousing bit of story telling. They also head to the mess hall. Where the kender is chased off with some thrown food. He does sneak in and burrow all the silverware though. Baldric does his best to avoid the kender.

The barber (Gins) meanwhile has been cutting hair and made a small amount of steel. As a matter of fact he is most likely the richest person around at this point. While Lucius decides he wants to sleep in a tent so he hads out to talk Gin into it. He succeds but is told he has to sleep on the floor. While he needs blankets so he wanders off and finds the supply tent. He tricks the guards into thinking he was sent to get some supplies for a commander. So he goes to bed.

A few days later they met up with the Dwarves. Lord Falstaff refuses to work under the Dwarves and the Dwarves refuse to work under him. A comprimise is reached thanks to Artemis. Baldric is traded to the dwarves army while the human army gets the Thrane's son.

When Artemis returns to the camp he finds a Kobold waiting in his tent. The kobold tells him he saw the other army and they stand equal in numbers. Artemis relays this information to Lord Jordec. They drink some wine.

Next day the two armies meet. The dwarves and the Palanthas irregulars hold the middle while the Knights stick to the sides. The battle is going good until the Dragons show up. The Lucuis sings a song and inspires courage in the men and they stand. Lord Jordec is attacked by a dragon rider. The players back him up and succed at killing the rider. Still the dragon is left. A battle ensures and ends with the death of Lord Jordec. With him falling the army losses its spirit and a rout is in order. The heros are left moving through the forest.

Well, the kender had met his first dragon and even saw a breath weapon used on him (good reflex and evasion made it quite the painless experience). But that isn't his best story from the adventure:
I got to meet a draconian today. Traveling with this band of human nights is getting quite boring. The Dwarves were interesting for a while, but I heard there was another army not too far away, so I thought I would go meet some of them. I got to the enemy camp and saw lots of draconans, ogres, and humans. Now I have seen ogres and humans, and while they are exciting, there were draconins. I saw one sitting all by himself. He looked lonely so I thought I would go talk with him. Well I learned one thing, draconans are not very nice. He wouldn't even talk to me. I guess he had some friends because a bunch more came and chased me into the woods. It was a lot of fun playing hide and seek, but they were not very good at it. Lucius von Pentdragon the VIII is much more interesting. He likes to sing to. I think I will take him on as my apprentice. That mage I was apprenticing too is starting to get boring.

You are playing before the War of the Lance? Then it is not possible to play a sorcerer in that particular campaign? Why is that? Because they emerge in the 5th Age, about 40 or so years after the War of the Lance.

As far as I know we don't have any sorcerers in the campaign, just wizards, and we see very few of those. Too bad, wizards always have the coolest things to borrow.
