Just a quick question for the rules lawyers out there -- what are the odds that a Discern Location spell could pinpoint the location, on the Deep Ethereal, of some poor sod who got mazed?

*ponder*

"I'd rule that no, while within one of The Lady's mazes, a sod is shielded from detection magics and divinations. At best the spell might give a vague location of a portal into the maze, or a vague location towards the maze within the depths of the deep ethereal."

"With Sigil effectively barred to the powers, one would think it a simple task to refuse information on the unfortunates within the mazes to a simple mortal spell."

"After all, it took over a thousand years for anyone to locate a portal into the maze of Vartus Timlin, the mazed factol of the Expansionists."

"However, there's also a Githyanki, Djekk'Nlarr, who has made quite a bit of jink from.. *cough* 'interested individuals' *cough* by getting sods mazed and then using her own highly trained psionic abilities to track them through the ethereal or through a portal into the maze itself. Once inside she maps it, then backtracks her way to the single exit portal, usually leaving the helpless berk inside to wallow away for all eternity."

"You don't age inside the mazes, making it one of the most hellish, and thus delightfully wicked punishments to be inflicted on any being."

*evil grin*

"Getting into the mazes requires more effort than a single spell in most all cases. Some mazes may even be more highly restricted for both detection and access. After all, no two mazes are alike, and they even appear to be specially crafted to fit the individual condemned within."

Of course, if you can manage to find a way out, and a way back in, you've got yourself a lovely little vacation home.
