We tested out the new aerial combat rules last night during the game and they work fairly well although still a little complex for trying to run smoothly.

However, my next campaign is going to use the rules A LOT. Lots of dragons and aerial combat. So I'd like each of my players to have a copy of those rules but for obvious reasons they don't want to pay out for a book they don't need themselves and I can't scan those pages, so is there any chance of getting a copy of them in PDF or DOC format so that my players can have those rules to hand?

Thanx in advance for any help you can give.

Personally I think a chance of that happening is pretty dim. What WotC could do is release the rules on OGL but WotC is slow in adding new stuff to it (just look how long it took to add Psionics) and this may not even happen at all.

What you could do is check Dragon Mag. I know there was an issue with underwater combat rules which were then OGLed and put into the 3.5 books. I seem to recall aerial combat rules in one issue as well but I may be wrong.

Or you could (photo)copy the relevant pages and hand them out to your players. Although threading the fine line between personal use and illegal distribution of content (perhaps crossing it) I don't think WotC would knock on your door because you copied a few pages for your players. Just don't make it available online or anything of the sort.

Its not my intention to do anything like that.

Problem is I don't want to try photocoping or scanning the book because that risks damage to the spine and my copy is signed by Weis and Hickman.

But it doesn't hurt to ask.

There was a post on the Wizards website regarding aerial combat rules, but I think it was just a preview. I'd give you the link, but the Wizards site doesn't seem to like me right now.

If you can't scan it and you won't photocopy it, then you could always just type it out into a word processor and print it for your players. That's a lot of typing though ...
