Rather than call this the 'Dargonesti and Dimernesti' thread, I thought I would just use the general category 'Sea Elves' to pose some questions that I have.

I have very rarely had need to read about, or conduct research on the twin Sea Elven kingdoms of Krynn, mostly because in my campaigns, few PC's have ever chosen to be either a Dargonesti, or a Dimernesti elf. So when I was reading up on the official entries for the two sub races of elves in the DLCS (yes, I finally have a copy), I found myself wondering that I knew virtually nothing about these races as a whole.

So basically, what I am asking for, is some brief notes about both subraces - mainly focusing on their homelands, and histories after the War of the Lance.

- Also, which are the best sources for detailed and official information about these subraces - whether they be novel or sourcebook?.

- Are there of maps and/or writeups for the two capitals' Watermere, and Dimernost.

- Also, what can you tell me about the Sea Dragonoverlord who has taken over(?) the Dimernesti kingdoms.

- And finally (for future campaign reference), could those of you who have roleplayed a sea elven PC please provide some thoughts and feelings on how using these races as your chosen PC race worked?.

Here's a partial answer to your questions:

Info. on the Dimernesti kingdom and the sea dragon overlord that conquered them in the pre-War of Souls Fifth Age can be found in the Dragonlance Saga Fifth Age accessory Heroes of Hope , originally pubished in 1997. There's also some minor info. on Brine, the sea dragon overlord of the kingdom of Dimernesti in the Age of Mortals accessory.

As for Watermere and the Dargonesti, there is a wealth of information in the 2nd edition Dragonlance product Otherlands , which is available for free download right here on Wizard's website. The Dargonesti information in the product deals with Watermere just after the War of the Lance, but there is still a great deal of info. on the Dargonesti's culture, history, etc. that is useful in most eras of play.

Novel-wise, Dargonesti features the Dargonesti elves, though not the elves of Watermere. Wanderlust (Meetings Sextet volume 2) deals with a Dargonesti of Watermere adventuring with a more standard group of adventurers. Maquesta Kar-Thon (Warriors volume 2) deals with a Dimernesti adventuring with a group of landlubbers.

Thank you iltharanos.

I hadn't realised that there was particular information in the Otherlands accessory, but then it has been a while since I have read it ;) .
