Is this a Dragonlance question?

As far as I now there are no more death knights left in ravenloft.
When Soth disappeared, Azreal (the seneschal) became the darklord of Sithicus.
And now I think Inza Kulchevic has taken over.

Regarding Soth's final death on krynn, The new death knight in DL is Lord Auseric (spelling?) a former knight of the lily. He is now the head of storm keep, although now it is only inhabitated by undeads.

Need comfirmation on spelling and inhabitants.

In RL or DL?

In RL the closest thing to a Deathkinight is probably Ellana Faithhold who is a Blackguard. But she's not undead. FYI Deathknights are no longer OGL so its unlikely a RL villian will be so adressed again.

There is a new Death Knight of Krynn described on page 214 of the Dragonlance Campaign Setting book: Lord Ausric Krell of Storm's Keep.

Question about that OGL: Mindflayers, like Death Knights, aren't OGL. That keeps them exclusive to WotC. Both Dragonlance and Ravenloft are licensed settings, and are not under OGL (at least that's what I've read, right or wrong). Mindflayers can appear in Ravenloft (eventually, hopefully, in Bluetspur), just as Death Knights appear in Dragonlance. Can a Death Knight appear in current Ravenloft? Perhaps more along the lines of the ones appearing in the Monster Manual II, and not with ties to Krynn? (I know; you can put in anything you want in your game, but I'm talking 'officially'.)

Hunh. That's a good point - I've heard over on the Karagatane site several times that they have their own deal with Wizards outside the usual OGL stuff so maybe they can officially put in a new deathknight if they so desired.

Karagatane.com is a better source for official answers than here.

But then based on your sig I think you already know that!

Azrael was never the darklord of Sithicus: It's sort of his curse to never become a darklord.
On the night of Screaming Shadows, Azrael stole all of the shadows in Sithicus and used them to devour Soth. At the same time, Inza was fleeing from her kinsmen after she murdered her own mother, and she flung herself into the shadows, and in turn, she became the new darklord of Sithicus.

More details are coming in the Ravenloft Gazetteer IV which will detail Sithicus

You're right about this.

When Bluetspur get a Gaz entry, there will be mind flayers (there should be). There's nothing stopping Arthaus from using the MMII death knight somewhere, but if they do, there could be a legal snit if it resembles a certain buckethead too closely, and death knights originated in Dragonlance, so the implication is there.

... and death knights originated in Dragonlance, so the implication is there.

Now, now, we've been through this before. ;) If my senior memory still serves me, Death Knights were first described in 1981 in the original 1st Edition AD&D Fiend Folio, page 23, "The death knight - and there are only twelve of these dreadful creatures known to exist - is a horrifying form of the lich created by a demon prince (it is thought Demogorgon) from a fallen human paladin". (yes, there have been a few changes in the 22 years since I bought that!)
The first appearance of Soth, or any death knight, in Dragonlance, to the best of my knowledge, was in the 1985 module DL8 Dragons of War, as the leader of the 91st cavalry serving in the Blue Dragonarmy attacking the High Clerist's Tower. Death Knights have come to be associated with Dragonlance in the 18 years since but they didn't first originate there.

that being said, good to see you here, DS! I still have your Conversions saved on my hard drive, and will until every last one appears officially in a game product. :D
