*Urik, Nibeany and Gulg are doing what they did for years....
*Tyr is controled by a Council (democracy?)
*Draj has a new psion-controled king (according to athas.org)

But what of Raam and Balic ?
Are they just anarchists dream now?

PS Did Dregoth toast Raam and Balic become a merchant paradise?

That's not just according to athas.org, it's according to the Wanderer's Chronicle.

Hardly, if you have read the Wanderer's Chronicle, and have a clue about what anarchy as a political ideology represents (and no, not the misuse of the word 'anarchy' fronted in the media). If anything, Raam is an ochlarchy, and Balic a plutarchy.

Jon....your way over my head.
So could you explain how Raam is a ochlarchy & Balic a plutarchy?
Didn't Dregoth destroy Raam?

Jon....your way over my head.

Comes with the oracle job description. ;)

The Greek rooted word for mob rule is ochlarchy. Raam is ruled by the mob, or actually, various mobs are fighting for territory.

Plutarchy, or plutocracy, is defined as "the rule of wealth". Balic is split in three sectors, each ruled by a merchant house.

No, not yet in any case.

Ok thanks for basically repeating what I said in more descriptive terms. That must come from being an oracle too.
LOL

And where the heck did I read about Dregoth and his dray destroying Raam...must search....

Wasn't Raam already a mob-scene when Abelech-Re was alive?

Ok thanks for basically repeating what I said in more descriptive terms.

You asked questions, I provided answers. You did not seem to understand the answers. It is *I* that repeated what *I* said in more descriptive terms, i.e. elaborated on the terms 'ochlarchy' and 'plutarchy'. ;)

Can you feel the love?

Anyhow, officially Raam still stands. It was the intention of the unreleased Dergoth Ascending adventure to have Raam get sacked (based on speculation, conjecture, and rumor). Since this product was never released officially, and since Athas.org has yet to convert and release it *cough, hurry up, cough*, it hasn't happened. Officially, Dergoth still plots in his cave with the rest of the Tablelands none the wiser.

Which part of Athas did you not understand in the description "Oracle of Athas"? I'm supposed to be meaner than the other oracles. Everything on Athas is, except the freaking dolphins. To be frank, I was very disappointed when I saw that the Athasian dolphins were lawful good. I mean, they should be vicious, lawful evil scheming telepathic "dolphins über alles" mentality creatures, preferably with all kinds of nasty psychic probes and attacks, and maybe even some sharp pointy teeth.

*makes gesture akin to that of Tim, the Enchanter from Monty Python's Knights of the Round Table.*

Damn I miss the boards...

Jon points out clueless bastard's cluelessness.

Cluless bastard points at Jon and throws sarcasm.

Jon is unamused by sarcasm and makes clueless bastard look even more clueless.

Enter Mach with wit.

I LOVE IT!

And people call *me* evil?

Now, that Nyte, was --way-- out of line. Apologize to GFORCE99 immediately. I mean... "bastard"... even implying he's got elven blood in his veins. That's pretty low... *shakes head in disgust*

EDIT: I hope everyone sees the joke in this. To prove there are no racist tendencies in this, I am half fin/half norwegian, and I game with a half norwegian/half maroccan.

OMG! That's absolutely brilliant! I love it *scribbles some notes* . . .

YOU hurry up.

Err . . . okay, you got me there. I am still trying.

Which part of Athas did you not understand in the description "Oracle of Athas"?

Oh! Of Athas. I get it know, makes more sense than what I thought this whole time was the Oracle of Aflack. I mean, why would Ben need his own Oracle and all. And here I just thought you were Pearl Harbor/Armageddon fanboy or something

(Much apologies to GEFORCE for destroying your thread)

Yeah, do you guys date much?:D
You really need to get out more (especially NytCrawlr, geez man its just a game, no need to be so rude, I am not THAT clueless).

To be honest, besides hamsters and illegitimate sons of dogs, thank you Mach and Jon for the answers.

Are there any other websites out there focusing on some of the lesser known cities (I saw a Balic one once....)
later!

There was a website devoted to Urik and another for Nibenay, neither of which I can find. Best bet is to check the Silt Skimmer's extensive links page. If its out there, he's got it.

Actually I am, but it's just with Athas.org, I still enjoy reading what you guys talk about when it comes to Athas and still enjoy running it. I just don't have the time to run one since I am running an Epic FR campaign right now, and looking for players that would enjoy DS more anyways.

You don't come across as particularly combative. In fact, I haven't seen a discussion like those of the last days since the good old days on the mailing lists, or when Brax was active on the message boards.
