Being something of a castle-fan (sad little man) I'm always interested to read about castles and fortifications of Greyhawk. Ivid the Undying contains references to a few, though only Goldbolt springs to mind.

The module the Fate of Istus contains city maps which features one or to castles.

Perhaps those of you would help me compile a list of famous castles and fortifications of Greyhawk. Perhaps with a one or two line description of it and where it is...

Most of the major cities have a citadel, castle or the like, but I'm more interested in the special castles that have some sort of other significane apart from being in a major city.

Goldbolt : Somewhere in the North Kingdom? Is this the one guarded by a frost giantess?

Castle Greyhawk ?

Spinecastle ?

Castle Maure ? Central Flanaess near the Nyr Dyv.

Castle of Rel Mord : main castle in the centre of Rel Mord.

Leukish Castle : This medium sized fortress represents one of the largest military presences on the Nyr Dyv, second only to Admunfort (formerly anyway) - from Fate of Istus.

Grayfist : castle at the center of Verbonbonc.

Okay there has to be heaps more. Anyone know any others??

Oct 28, 2003 4:21:17 Mordenkainen and Rary each have a named castle. Both are very famous and may be worth detailing in a book.

And that's just a couple from what I've read of Ivid and Marklands. I can think of others but I can't remember their names.

There should be literally thousands of castles in Greyhawk. If you go to the Domesday pages they indicate that the Pale would have about 80+ castles alone.
