Should an infected Lycanthrop be making power's checks? I mean, if you have Control Shape and you change on purpose...of course (even changing itself could have one). But what if the character desperatly doesn't want to maul people, but changes anyway (and had done everything in his power to "cure" his lycanthropy). Should he be morally responsable? The DM is like "yes", but I figure not...mainly because it's not me, it's the beast. Of course, if I enjoy too many benefits of the beast...

On a related note, should we ignore the 3.5 alignment change mechanic? I mean, kinda hard to have a moral issue with ending the life of something garunteed to be evil....if it kept it's original alignment, however...

A though subject to be sure. I would say that as long as the afflicted did everything in his power to battle the influence of the beast, he should not be held responsible for his actions while transfigured. However, as soon as he gave in to the calling of the beast, I'd smack some hefty powerchecks on him, perhaps making him a true lycantrophe.

I can't comment on the 3.5 issue, as I'm still an old school 3.0'er...
