Can someone please tell someone who isn't overly familiar with 2nd Edition Ravenloft about what is what?

Where did the different places come from (specificaly, what from where)? I mean, some stuff seems obvious, like a Red Wizard darklord from Forgotten Realms...

What places, gods, NPCs originally came from where?

Thanks!

Keep in mind that these worlds were part of the Darklords' backgrounds in 2E only. In 3E, Azalin is simply a lich who hails from a distant world. As a DM, you can say its the Flanaess, or you may not.

Anyways:

Vlad Drakov is from Krynn
Meredoth is from Mystara
Easan the Mad is from Oerth
Harkon Lucas, Von Kharkov and Draga Salt-Biter are from Toril

The cult of the Morning Lord sprang up around a displaced priest of Lathander from FR. Read "Vampire of the Mists" for the full details.

the Church of the Lawgiver is based off of Bane. Note that clerics still got their spells when "Bane" was dead in FR so they may not be actually getting their power from their no matter what they believe.

Hala, Ezra & the Eternal Order are essentially homegrown.

Belenius is from the Celtic pantheon.

¿Didn't they briefly lost their spells?

Yes, briefly they did.

Mordent (and thus, Godefroy) came from an unnamed Prime Material world.

Jacqueline Renier and her clan are from the same world.

Dominic d'Honaire is from Mordent, his family apparently native.

The same for Alfred Timothy, werewolf lord of Verbrek.

Ivana Boritsi and Ivan Disilnya are both descended from the infamous family who entered the mists along with Strahd and Barovia.

I do believe Yango Petrovna, darklord of G'Henna is also of Barovian origins.

I think he's more concerned with knowing who the outlander darklords are, as opposed to who the "native" darklords are.

Most of the "major" domains are ruled by someone not native to Ravenloft. Few domains in the Core have been dragged in with their lord. Barovia (obviously), Mordent (See I10: The House on Gryphon Hill), and Lamordia are the only ones I can think of right now without a book handy.

I'd like to get a little resource together for people like me interested in this.

I'd like to know stuff like:

Where a lord comes from, where the domain comes from (is based on), any setting specific stuff involved with them. Some of this is really easy stuff, but I don't have books in front of me.

If you knowledgeable people could fill in blanks, add more...

Domains are more difficult, as they resemble the darklord, not necessarily the land. Right now I can only recall that Meredoth's island, Todstein, was taken directly from Mystara; Vorostokov from Cerilia (Birthright) and Kalidnay from Athas (Dark Sun). But I think the city of Kalidnay still exists in Athas.

Actually, Firan Zal'Honan was the Earl (later Azal'Lan, literally "wizard-king") of Knurl in the Bone Marches.

In some cases (ex: Forlorn), the domain is physically removed from the Material Plane. In others (ex: Barovia, Kalidnay), the people are removed and the landscape copied, but the original location remains on the MP.
