I've just started a new PS campaign and I'm looking for some devious Planewalkers out there to give this cutter a hand. My PC's have been Hired by a disguised Rule-Of-Three to deliver 3 items to 3 destinations in one night. From the Black Sails I had them deliver a completely spontaneously made up plant called a Ethereal Death root (it eats Undead and is partially incorporeal ala blink) to the Mortuary. It got loose and they had to catch it before it ate too many of the Faction members. Needless to say my PC's ended up grappling a skeleton to use as bait, chased it up to the top of the roof in a rainstorm and nearly fell to their own deaths... I'll admit it was a totally impromptu adventure, but heck it served as a good hook to start off with.

Ok so here's part two, and the request for some input. They must deliver (insert) from Orridi Malefin at the Mortuary to the Tower of the Wyrm and Factol Malin (yep I'm running retro PS). I'm thinking Malin needs a way to stall death as he knows Alisohn Nilesia means to write him in the dead book. So he goes to the one person most intouch with death... a priestess who worships the very concept!!! Eventually I want the PC's to help Malin skip town.

In fact I think Factol Malin needs to make a reappearance in the updated Sigil! We barely knew him.

Maybe they can deliver an amulet that will let him forstall unnatural death but only by permanently weakening himself. Have it be able to loose 1 permanent hit point to gain 25 temporary ones that last for just a minute or so like the armor of the ventadari had in dragon annual 1.

Cudos for using Malin. Nice touch. Perhaps the party could also meet a clueless Darkwood.

"What is a berk, and what do you mean don't mess with the Lady?"

as for the item: how about an item that is activated when the wearer's hitpoint reach below 0. Insead of dying, the wielder is automatically stabilized and is affected by a feign death spell. Nilesia will believe she succeded, and Malin can flee and hopefully disappear.

Or maybe even better: an item that does absolutely nothing. After all, don't trust a dustman not to let you die.

While an item that Renews hp's at 0 (like the Renewal domain in FR) would be nice, it's a little beneath what a Factol could get their hands on. And IIRC Mallin was sold to the fiends, maybe from the Vault... Hmmm?

Ah my PC's are

Bladeling Fighter-Cipher
Drow Ranger (Planar Hunter)-Indep
Aasimar Sorcerer-Signer
Tiefling Rogue-Fated
Bariaur Druid-Godsmen
