A few questions...

Okay, number 1: Does anybody know of a revision for the module Dragon Dawn, preferably done in the style of the revisions of Dragons of Despair and Dragons of Flame from the Nexus, done by...Cam, I think?

Number 2: I don't have AoM, so can somebody tell me if the Mariner class is appropriate for another Age, or another setting as a matter of fact.

Number 3: If the answer to number 2 is yes for another setting, how many levels of Mariner would I give to someone who is labled as a 6th level Expert? Is it 3? Or 5? I've heard a few different things on this, and I want to know.

Number 4: In the old DL modules, was Derek Crownguard a Knight of the Rose? I haven't found any mention of it, but then again, I haven't looked too terribly hard, I've been concentrating more on DL-1.

Number 5: What order was Aran Tallbow in? Crown?

Number 6: How old was Flint exactly?

Okay, that's it, I think. These are some questions I've been saving up for a while so that I had enough to start my own thread. If somebody could answer them, I'd be eternally grateful.

2) yes, the mariner is appropriate for other eras. The tales of the lance box set had it as an available base character class, with some rogue abilities, and some relation to the fighter.

3) I would personally make him 5th or 6th, but then i look at it as though he had earned those experience points.

4) I am not sure in the modules, but he was a rosie in the novels, so I am pretty sure they kept him as one for the modules.

5) I am not absolutely sure, but i seem to remember Tallbow was a sword.

6) 250 was a number i am pretty sure was around his age. But I might be pulling that number from a conversation on the subject with a friend of mine from six years ago.

3: Well, he's an NPC from a module I have. He's a sailor, and a 6th level Expert, but I wanted to make him a Mariner.

4: Well, the module came out first, and it doesn't say anything about it, I don't think. But, I have the 1E version, I was hoping maybe it has it in the 2E one.

6: Well, all I really need to know is if he is 200 or older, because that is a prerequisite for a feat that I found in a book that I htink would go good for him.

I would convert a 6th level Expert to a 5th level mariner. NPC classes are about equal with base classes one level less than the NPC class level, and with the mariner you'd gain a number of abilities beyond what the expert would have. Mariners are indeed available as a class choice in any era.

Derek Crownguard was a Knight of the Rose, and Aaron Tallbow was a Knight of the Crown. Aaron's name is given as Aran in Dragons of Winter Knight, where he's also stated as being a Crown Knight. A third knight who doesn't appear in the modules, Brian Donner, is a Sword Knight. Both Aran and Brian die in Icereach defending the Ice Folk village from thanoi attacks (mentioned also in the short story "Finding the Faith", currently included in Best of Tales.)

Flint is 148 years old at the beginning of Chronicles, as described in DL5 Dragons of Mystery.

No plans at this time for any module conversions for Dragon Dawn, sorry.

Cheers,
Cam

At the begining of the DL chronicles, Flint was around 130.

Okay, thanks. I needed Derek and Aran(was it every spelled Aaron? I've never seen it as such)'s orders for my conversion of them. Another question: Is Aran a human or a half-elf? I've seen him labled as both.

hmmm....hey, since there's no spellcasting pre-WotL, how would I make Sword and Rose Knights balanced? Maybe only give them Crown Knight levels, but are in actuality Sword or Rose Knights?

Flint's only 148? Darn. I wanted to give him the Wisdom of Ages feat from Hammer and Helm(it requires Wis 13+ and the person to be 200+).

His name's Aaron in the modules, but nowhere else. Also, he's never been listed as a half-elf in any source I know of. You might have got that impression because Aaron's the Tanis replacement for DL6 thru DL9.

Well, you could do what I did and leave them both as fighters. I mean, you might get a few nice benefits from the Solamnic prestige classes, but Aaron's an archer as it is, and Derek's really just a fighter with halberd specialist feats.

Sorry about that.

Well, I was going to give them levels in my Knight base class(not Knight of Solamnia), in which you choose a single weapon and get lots of bonuses with it. I came up with it because of the fact that Sturm is a bastard sword master, Aaron a bow master, and Derek a halberd master. Of course, the Knight is not appropriate for all KoS, for instance I would keep Gerard as a Fighter.

Umm...could somebody do me a favor? What abilities would a 5th level Mariner have? At least the ones relating to combat? Also need the abilities of a 4th and 1st level Mariner.
