Can I get some clarification of this from PS 2e. My understanding is that for every plane between the cleric and the power they worship, they lose 1
effective caster level. For example a 5th level cleric 1 plane away from homebase becaomes a 4th level cleric in terms of what spells they may or may
not cast.

If the cleric is too far away they lose all spells all together. Their other abilities are unaffected. When counting you dont include the current
and target plane. Sigil is exempt from this affect.

Thanks.

Exactly, and you can't trace a path through the outlands or the astral, either. You have to go around the ring. Some Mt. Celestia to Acheron is -2 (Arcadia, Mehcanus). I know the prime is immune to this effect, but I can't remember how it works on the inner planes or if you worship an inner planar power and are on the outer planes.

It was -3 effective levels for being on the Inner Planes (or Being on the Outer for an Elemental Power).
