Guess the title is not very clear, but let me explain. Is there any magical object that allows a caster to center the spell on a certain focus while he is very far away from it ? Suppose the caster deposits said focus 20 miles away from him, and then concentrates merely on that focus and casts a spell. This spell would have its origin and point of effect counting from the focus, not from the caster, thus amplifying immensely his range.

Does this thing exist ? The spells I was thinking on casting were: Dispel Magic, Fear or Hold Person, only one of these suffices.

Thank you.

Hm, doesn't sound like a very Ravenloft-specific question... I can't think of any such thing offhand, but in Ravenloft I'd say there would be two definite issues:

1) If it exists, it's probably something the Vistani have-- and they won't let just anyone get their filthy giorgio mitts on it;

2) It won't work across closed domain borders. Period.

I'm afraid not, but it's for my campaign, which is in Ravenloft. But I was asking in a general sense because RL is still D&D (or was, whatever) and inherits automatically everything that was issued for the general line: Book of Wondrows Magic, Magic Encyclopediae, etc, Unearthed Arcana (am I sounding too old ? :embarrass) although it might have some twists to suit the setting.

A metamagic feat serving that purpose may appear in Gaz IV.
