What's up with the OVER exaggeration with the powers checks in the new RL PHB? I mean there are powers checks for every little thing now!

I mean come on B-4-Real.

Probably our sweet developer Duo is just having a frenzy of I-want-to-change-the-world and I-want-to-matter mania without the creative reality-check. Sometimes a trick to improving a perfect product is just fixing the errors...

I don't know about you, but I would like to do something more than just boycott the RLPHB. I feel that there has to be a better solution to the developers problem. There are more quality fans out there who could serve our cause instead of them. Could someone find out who hired them and suggest a continuity manager? I know WotC has a look in all the books before they go published - perhaps there could be someone competent on the consistency looking over the stuff. Perhaps we need to get a petition letter to someone who matters?

I don't know what to do, I'm just worried that in case this goes on for another two years we might find ourselves in a situation where we have surrendered the world worth fighting for to the night.

How much are they trying to sell that thing for anyway(The RL PHB)? Whatever price they have set they had better lower it.

Nope, no powers check needed, it's an AoUD.

In a word....why?

There's probably no better way to get our message across, as fans. And, while they may not listen, it's worth a shot, right?

Apperently when Monte Cook delivered the Book of Vile Darkness to WOTC they sat down at a meeting and tried to get him to rewrite it so it sould be even more vile than it allready was. Monte refused as he felt it was inappropriate for the product. I have some problems with Monte Cook (just minor ones, I hasten to add) but I have to respect him for that.

Thats the attitude we have to be aware of here when looking at the RLPHB and stuff.

Anyway, an email sounds like a great idea. whats the address?

I do not know right off hand. Should we place all of our complaints about the PHB together now ? Meaning in some format rather than that of a WoTC board thread ? Let me know what you guys want to do and if it will get us better products for RL I am game!

It would be better if we did not put all of our complaints together. If you want to write Arthaus about your gripes with the RPHB, better do it separately, each stating only his own opinion. The more letters they receive, the greater the chance they might take it seriously.

So how about a full list of what causes power checks?
I know leveling does for some classes and learning some spells as well as casting them, but how about examples.
Everyone is *****ing about how Tenser's Floating Disc requires a power check, but why?

And what kind of numbers are we talking about here? Like 1%? You could level up fifty times before the odds are even against you.
