Kargatane,

Thanks for reintroducing me not only to Ravenloft, but also to Dungeons and Dragons in general. After a hiatus of three years, I really needed the boost to my creativity.

"To Secrets of the Kargatane, you were our shelter, our meeting place, our very life, we laughed in you, and we cried, you saw our greates triumphs, and our saddest defeats, and you will be missed sorely."

Hello

I'll miss the Secrets of the Kargatane, I wiled many an hour touring their complete reviews section and lusting after out of print Ravenloft stuff. Plus, I would not have taken up online gaming if not for them.

Good Luck moving on, Kargatane, and beware bandits and Vistana on the road back to Darkon.

Thick red paint, or is it blood?, violates this recently-erected symbol of death:

Dead to the world

On the back, two more words:

Stay dead

I'd like to dedicate this song to a very special friend of ours, now recently deceased. It was written by an enigmatic individual named Bob Dylan. Where he was from, I don't know, but he looked for all the world like he might be Mordentish...

Anyway, it goes something like this:

Death Is Not The End

When you're sad and when you're lonely
And you haven't got a friend
Just remember that death is not the end

And all that you held sacred
Falls down and does not mend
Just remember that death is not the end
Not the end, not the end
Just remember that death is not the end

When you're standing on the crossroads
That you cannot comprehend
Just remember that death is not the end

And all your dreams have vanished
And you don't know what's up the bend
Just remember that death is not the end
Not the end, not the end
Just remember that death is not the end

When the storm clouds gather round you
And heavy rains descend
Just remember that death is not the end

And there's no-one there to comfort you
With a helping hand to lend
Just remember that death is not the end
Not the end, not the end
Just remember that death is not the end

For the tree of life is growing
Where the spirit never dies
And the bright light of salvation
Up in dark and empty skies
When the cities are on fire
With the burning flesh of men
Just remember that death is not the end

When you search in vain to find
Some law-abiding citizen
Just remember that death is not the end

Not the end, not the end
Just remember that death is not the end
Not the end, not the end
Just remember that death is not the end

Thanks for educating me, I heard this song on a Nick Cave and the Badseeds album. Good to hear it's Dylan.

BTW, do many of you even remember me from SotK?

Oh, I recognize your handle. But like Jackie said, I'd be hard put to say anything more than that about you... :embarrass

Yeah, I first heard it through Nick Cave too. I like his version alot...

It's been a while since I checked on the Kargatane, so imagine my surprise to find the book shop gone.

Tonight, I shall drink a toast to The Kargatane, and to all the rest that I've talked to in the Tavern.

You guys are some of the greats, and I wish to you all the best.
