Hi,

as of Domains of Dread, Dr. Illhousen is physically trapped in the Nightmare Lands. But his clinic was initially in Nova Vaasa. When did he become a captive ? In what product is this detailed ?

Thanks

In the Nightmare lands box set, I won't spoil it with exact detales.
XXXXXing out the names.

Dr. Illhousen was chosen by the city council to run the assylum in egertus for the mental distressed. But Illhousen was a vissionairy in treatment of mental illness, the second higher up Dr.XXXXXX resentend this.

Illhousen started making, in road in in dream interpretation and the effects on sanity. When he discovered a familly all living the exact same dream at the same time that's where he saw the XXXXXX man.

Pushing furture Illhousen annoyed the XXXXX man who made a deal with Dr.XXXXXX

thus sealing a pact wich doomed the asulum in the nighmare lands.

I've read the nightmare lands several times, there is no mention of the assylum being taken in the nighmare lands (it's implyed , by Illhousen) but the box set also says Doctor Tusker is dreaming of the Asylum runned the way he wnated to be.

So could the Asylum be Dr.Tusker's dream, He got what he wanted an assylum full of crasies on wich to perform his electrochock therapy, but like any darklord with their own pocket (dream?) plane it gets corrupted. in his dream Illhousen and the head nurse manage to escape the Assylum where he can't get to them.

I would find it an entresting plot twist (if it isn't already) that the assylum is still in Egertus and that the real Illhousen is still doing his work, while Dr.Tusker seemes to have gone insane an is now in one of the cells his dreams maitaining the Assylum in the Nighmareland.

The event itself is not detailed anywhere. I believe the whole thing to be the first step in the direction of the "Dread Possibilities" Ravenloft products now have.
